NFL Top Week 8 Picks: Bears vs. Commanders

Bears vs. Commanders
We don’t know Jayden Daniels’s status yet. If he’s out of this game, the Commanders will be heavier underdogs. You can wait it out.
That said, Marcus Mariota looked just fine under Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. I preach this all the time. There are no busts at the professional level. It’s coaching and schemes. Mariota is an experienced quarterback who can lead the Commanders if Daniels can’t play.
Ultimately, the Commanders will dominate on the ground against the Bears. Chicago has one of the best secondaries in the NFL, and the best way to avoid it is by running the football. The Commanders opened up holes at a wild rate against Carolina last weekend and should do the same this weekend against the Bears.
Meanwhile, Caleb Williams and the Bears are still 0-2 on the road this season. Chicago has won three consecutive games against the Rams, Panthers, and Jaguars. They’ve ultimately played against three mediocre defenses and had to travel back from London last week while Washington will just stay home after their win against the Panthers.
Knowing the circumstances and seeing just how well Washington is playing right now, I’ll back Washington on the moneyline. If you’d like to wait on the Daniels news for a better line, that’s fine. No matter who the quarterback is, I’ve got Washington winning this game.
