After a full day off in the league, we have a large slate to start the season’s first week. We’ve taken advantage of huge mismatches and will do it again today. We also have some high-scoring and defensive centric to highlight in today’s best bets.

Florida Panthers (-137) vs. Boston Bruins (+114) o/u 6.5 (-124/+102)
The Panthers made some changes in the offseason, and so far, it’s working out, with Matthew Tkachuk coming in with two goals and three points overall. While they're still talented, don't be too sure they will be the same powerhouse offense that won them the President’s Trophy last year.
On the other hand, the Bruins made huge strides offensively this season as they're second in the league with 5.5 goals per game, even with Brad Marchand starting the season on injured reserve. They've also been playing well on the blue line even with Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk both out, as they've allowed the 12-fewest shot per game this year. It shows how good this team will be when they're healthy.
Interestingly, the Bruins are a road dog, especially with how well they're playing. This is a great chance to grab a great bet with plus odds.
Pick: Bruins ML (+114)
Arizona Coyotes (+390) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (-530) o/u 7 (+116/-142)
It looks like the Coyotes will be one of the worse teams in the league this year. They have been unable to stop anyone on the blue line without Jakob Chychrun, and so far, they've given up six goals in each game.
The Maple Leafs bring the same team of forwards that scored 3.80 goals per game last season, and they'll still be strong offensively. The goaltending question may pop up as Matt Murray was placed on long-term injured reserve with an abductor injury. Ilya Samsonov will take over as the starter and has performed well, so for .926 and 2.00 goals allowed per game, but he doesn’t have much experience.
Toronto will have no problem scoring in this game, but Arizona should get a couple in the net. I'm confident in taking the over than either team.

Winnipeg Jets (+118) vs. Dallas Stars (-142) o/u 6 (-118/-104)
The Jets have shown a strong defense to start the season. In their last game, they looked great against the Rangers, allowing just one goal and 2.26 expected goals against in 5-on-5 time. Connor Hellebuyck should get the start and was in the crease for that game and stopped 40 of 41 shots.
The Stars are another team that emphasizes defense and has been successful, and they are ninth in expected goals when it's 5-on-5. Jake Oettinger will be on the crease, and he's also been outstanding this season and is allowing 1.00 GAA, and his .968 save percentage is fourth-best in the league.
I’d love both defenses and goaltenders to play tough, and we should see a low-scoring game.
