Thursday's Best NHL Same Game Parlay Bets

(NHL odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Chicago Blackhawks at Carolina Hurricanes

What makes the Hurricanes so good is that they have one of the deeper lineups in the league, and it shows with their league-leading 56.68% expected goal percentage at full strength.

They got even better on offense with a recent trade. They sent away points leader Martin Necas but received Mikko Rantanen in return, who has back-to-back 100-point seasons. A line with Rantanen and Sebastian Aho could be trouble for opponents.

The Blackhawks do not have that depth yet, but they hope to be there at some point. Connor Bedard is the player they will build around, but there are a few other good players like Teuvo Teravainen, who has 34 points, Tyler Bertuzzi, who has 17 goals and Ryan Donato, who has 15 goals.

The defense has been their weakest point, as they are 29th in goals allowed (3.62), 28th in shots allowed (31.4) and have allowed four or more goals in three of the last four games.

The last matchup went to overtime, but the stats overwhelmingly favored Carolina, including a 48-25 shot advantage. The Hurricanes could put up similar numbers, and more shots should find the back of the net.

Parlay Odds: +378

Winnipeg Jets at Boston Bruins

The Jets are tied with the Capitals for the most points in the league, and they are coming into this game playing as good as they were at the start of the season. They are on a 7-2-0 run over their last nine games, allowing 1.88 goals per game and scoring 3.44 per contest.

That ability to beat teams with their offense or defense makes them tough; they have that trio of Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele and Gabriel Vilardi, who each have 20+ goals. In net, they have reigning Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck, who could go back-to-back, as he leads the league in goals allowed and save percentage.

They are heading to Boston, a tough environment, but this Bruins team has struggled this season. The defense helped this team score a record-breaking 135 points a couple of years ago, but it has not been the same. Jeremy Swayman now gets most of the starts and is 75th in goals saved above expected (5.6).

Swayman is coming off allowing five goals to a below-average Sabres offense and now has to face one of the best teams in the league. The Jets could show off their strengths in this game.
