The Stanley Cup Finals continue today with Game 3 as the series moves to Las Vegas! We've got you covered from a sports betting angle, as I've narrowed in on a duo of best bets from the continuously shrinking postseason betting board. Here are my top NHL picks and bets for Saturday, June 6th.
Saturday's Best NHL Picks & Bets
Last: 2-0 | Postseason: 15-9 | Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook
Carolina Hurricanes (-108) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (-112) | O/U 5.5 (-125/+105)
Vegas is 13-4 this postseason, including a stretch of seven straight wins that was broken in Game 2’s OT loss. Still, it’s hard to believe this is the same squad that was in OT on the road in Utah down 2-1 and facing a 3-1 series deficit in the eyes back in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Mammoth. Since trailing that series two games to one, Vegas has gone 12-3, with a 5-1 record at home in their last six. Game 2 marked the first time in four tries this season that Carolina has beaten the Golden Knights, so look for Vegas to refocus back home at T-Mobile Arena.
Brett Howden has scored at least one goal in three straight games against the Hurricanes. He has also scored a postseason-high 13 goals in 18 games, with all 13 coming in the last 15 playoff games. During that 15-game stretch, Howden has cashed the anytime goalscorer prop at an 11-4 pace. He is 3-3 cashing this prop at home this postseason. Even with these numbers, tonight is the first time this postseason his ATG prop has been priced below +300, but there is still obvious value at +270. It’s actually mind-blowing how long Vegas has let Howden’s odds remain elevated. Let’s see what happens first: does the series end, or do Howden’s ATG odds dip below +200?
Like I always say, Vegas' problem, not ours! Book it!
Pick: Golden Knights Moneyline (-112) & Brett Howden Anytime Goalscorer (+270)
