Sweden vs. USA (Women’s Hockey)
The United States has been the best team in the event this year. They dominated the Group Stage and even earned a 5-0 win over Canada.
Sweden has improved since the start of the tournament. However, they played fewer competitions in Group B. Therefore, it’s challenging to determine precisely how much they’ve improved over time.
The last time these two teams played, Team USA won 6-1 at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. This current Team USA roster is its best ever. It has no holes, including goalie Gwyneth Philips.
Meanwhile, Sweden has performed well at the Olympics. But as long as Team USA continues to put pressure on Sweden and plays strong defense after scoring early, they’ll be fine.

Switzerland vs. Canada (Women’s Hockey)
Canada has played phenomenally in the tournament. The only hiccup was the lackadaisical effort against Team USA earlier in the tournament.
That said, the last time these two teams played, Switzerland held Canada to just one goal in the first 40 minutes of game action. The game finished in a 4-0 win for Canada, as Canada outshot Switzerland 55-6.
Canada’s offensive production hasn’t been as expected. But look for this team to turn it on and make a statement against Switzerland. They’re going to dominate shots on goal and start scoring at a rapid pace as the game continues.
So far, Switzerland has had great goaltending from Andrea Brandli. She saved 40 shots against Finland in the quarter-finals. But can she keep up her dominant play against Canada? It’s unlikely.
