Houston Astros (-131) at Arizona Diamondbacks (+107) | O/U 8.5 (-115/-105) MLB Picks
After a tough start to the season for the Astros and Framber Valdez, both have been stellar lately. Houston has won Valdez's last 12 starts, and in that span, he has a 1.91 ERA and 2.63 FIP. This has vaulted the Astros into first place and Valdez into the American League Cy Young race.
Valdez likes to keep his pitches down, and that's how he's been successful recently. If he’s pitching well, we're going to see batters consistently hit the ball on the ground, but if he isn’t hitting his mark, batters will lay off. Walks have usually been his weakness, but he seems to be gaining control and has two or fewer walks in three straight starts.
While the Diamondbacks have been one of the better offenses in recent weeks, Valdez has been tough to beat.

Athletics (+192) at Texas Rangers (-239) | O/U 7.5 (-115/-105) MLB Picks
Jacob deGrom is healthy after only pitching nine starts in his first two seasons with Texas, and is having a fantastic season with a 2.32 ERA. The Rangers can be confident he'll give them a chance at a win, especially lately with quality starts in seven of his last eight outings.
The swing and miss stuff has been his anchor, and he is in the 79th percentile in whiff rate and 83rd in chase rate.
This could make it a favorable matchup against the Athletics, who are 26th in whiff rate (26.3%).

New York Yankees (+108) at Toronto Blue Jays (-131) | O/U 9.0 (-110/-110) MLB Picks
Nothing about playing up north has been kind to the Yankees, as they have dropped five straight in Toronto. They send up Cam Schlitter, who earned the win in his MLB debut by going 5.1 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven. The biggest concern has to be the two home runs allowed, both of which would have been gone in at least half of the MLB ballparks.
That could be a problem against the Blue Jays, whose 5.3 runs per game at home are the second most in the American League and they have the lowest whiff rate (20.9%).
