Friday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Mitch Keller Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-142)

Mitch Keller will get the ball for the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has struck out only 17.4% of batters this year. While he’s added 25% of strikeouts against righties, he’s earned just 12.9% of strikeouts against lefties this season.

This is a bit odd, especially since he struggled to earn strikeouts more against righties last season. But either way, he added just 21.5% of strikeouts last year and only 17.4% this year. He’s not a high-volume strikeout pitcher anymore.

Meanwhile, Keller will battle a Padres unit that has struck out only 17.9% of the time against righties over the last 30 days. The Padres should also have four lefties in the lineup. Those four lefties have struck out a combined 17.3% of the time.

Keller should earn many outs. I just don’t expect them to be strikeouts.

Let’s back Keller to record under 4.5 strikeouts in tonight’s game against San Diego.

Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (-155)

Bobby Witt Jr. is currently on a 22-game hitting streak.

The Royals slugger has added a .160 ISO and wOBA of .379 with only 15.4% of strikeouts against right-handed pitching over the last 30 days. Beyond that, he’s added 47.1% of hard contact and a .364 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties.

Witt faces Dean Kramer of the Orioles, who has allowed a .209 ISO and wOBA of .361 to his first 49 righties this season. Kremer has only struck out 16.3% of righties and has allowed 41.7% of hard contact with 30.6% of fly balls. Kremer has also added only 38.9% of ground balls against righties over the last 30 days.

Witt has taken advantage of almost every pitcher this season. He has one of his best matchups of the year against Kremer.

Andy Pages Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)

Andy Pages might be near the bottom of the batting order, but he’s been red hot against right-handed pitching. Pages has hit a .294 ISO and wOBA of .455 with only 17.9% of strikeouts against righties over the last 30 days. Meanwhile, he’s also added 34.1% of fly balls and 26.8% of line drives and has earned a 12.2% barrel percentage against righties.

Pages takes on Grant Holmes of the Braves, who has struggled badly against right-handed hitters this season. His first 56 righties faced have hit a .340 ISO and wOBA of .401.

Holmes has allowed 14.3% of walks and is falling behind in counts. In addition, he’s allowed 37.1% of fly balls and has gained just 34.3% of ground balls against righties. He’s also struck out below 22% of right-handed batters this season.

Pages has earned a .378 BABIP against righties over the last 30 days. He should be able to inflate that number even more against Holmes.
