Thursday's Best WNBA Picks & Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Minnesota Lynx (-8) at Los Angeles Sparks (+250), O/U 166.5 (-110/-110) WNBA Picks

This will be the fourth game played between the Lynx and Sparks this season. Minnesota has won all three previous games: 89-75 (May 18), 101-78 (June 14), and 82-66 (June 21).

Napheesa Collier did not play in the third game but led the way in the other two, averaging 27.5 ppg, seven rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Kayla McBride led the charge in the third game with 29 points after going 5-of-7 from three-point range.

Minnesota dominated all three games on both ends of the court, pretty much as expected (they were 6.5-, 11.5-, and 8.5-point favorites). It's not that the Sparks don't have talented players. Kelsey Plum is one of the more dynamic scoring threats in the league and along with Dearica Hamby, LA has an impressive one-two punch.

However, they don't have much else they can rely on, and their defense is questionable, at best, on its good days. When you are playing a team with the No. 2 offense and No. 1 defense in the league and you don't have many options on offense and a lackluster defense...Bad things are going to happen.

LA has some promise and potential, but struggles to put together a complete game. Against arguably the most complete team in the WNBA, they don't stand a chance.

Pick: Lynx -8 (-110

Las Vegas (-1) Aces at Washington Mystics (-102), O/U 158.0 (-110/-110) WNBA Picks

This will be the third of four games the Aces and Mystics are scheduled to play this season. Each has won one: Aces won 75-72 on May 23, and the Mystics won 94-83 on June 26.

All eyes are going to be on the status of A'ja Wilson for this game. She was injured in the Aces’ last game; she is listed as questionable, but the team has yet to announce the results of her MRI. However, her presence, although preferred, may no longer be as crucial as it once was.

In the May 23 game, she recorded 15 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Jackie Young led the way on the scoreboard with 25 points, followed by Chelsea Gray with 17 points. While they got the win, they were favored by 15.5 points and needed a massive fourth quarter to gain control of the game.

Wilson had 22/5/2 line in the more recent game, one the Mystics pretty much controlled the whole way.

The hard part with making a prediction for this game is that a healthy Wilson that catches fire can take over a game by herself. However, those games have been few and far between this season.  Wilson will likely sit this game; it's the right move for her injury, regardless of the MRI results.

Washington's young talent is getting better and better every week. They can take this Aces team, but if you're going to back them, don't waste time thinking about it. As soon as Wilson is ruled out, the line will shift.

Pick: Mystics Moneyline (-102)
