The WNBA playoffs continue this evening with Game 5 of the WNBA Finals, after the Valkyries tied it up 2-2 and the series heads back to Golden State. Angel Reese Over 27.5 Points + Rebounds (-110 at bet365)
After an off game last time out, I'm buying back stock in Angel Reese tonight. In Game 2, she went off for 46 combined points + rebounds. In Game 4, she combined for 33 points + rebounds. In the postseason, she's averaging over 28 on the combo prop - right around tonight’s line. After rest and with the high stakes, I expect both her minutes and usage to rise.
What really stood out is that she attempted only 12 shots last game after going over 16 attempts in three of her previous five playoff games. Reese is due to bounce back, and her attempts will almost certainly take a tick up.
On the rebounding side, I still trust both defenses enough to force a lot of opportunities on the glass and for second-chance looks. This might depend on how many perimeter looks each team takes for the long boards, but I'll take that risk because, even if that's the case, the randomness favors positive regression for her to gobble up more rebounds.
Gabby Williams Under 21.5 Points + Assists (-12 at Caesars Sportsbook)
I'm fading Gabby Williams today. Golden State does a great job sharing the ball and elevating the whole team, so it won’t focus entirely on Williams, despite her solid play. If you can't tell by the props, I am on the Dream tonight, even though they’re on the road. Golden State's offense has been hard to trust overall, and I wouldn't be shocked if both teams fail to reach 70 again tonight.
