With the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in the rearview mirror, it’s time for the 2025 Belmont Stakes. The final jewel of the triple crown, the Test of the Champion is typically the longest of the three races at a full 1.5 miles. However, the 2025 version of the Belmont Stakes will run at the historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., rather than Belmont Park, for the second year in a row, as renovations continue at the race's usual home. That means the distance is being shortened from 1.5 miles to 1.25 miles due to the difference in track circumference. Below, we take a look at the current Belmont Stakes odds, post position, and expert advice for Baeza.

Baeza Belmont Stakes Predictions
- Post Position: 6
- Odds: 4-1
After shocking the competition by finishing in third at the Kentucky Derby (1 3/4 lengths behind the winner), no one is going to get caught sleeping by Baeza at the Belmont Stakes, hence having such good odds (4 -1).
He didn't do too well in his first race (12/1/2024), but bounced well over the next three races with a win and two second-place finishes. His trainer, John Shirreffs, has a history of success with one in the Kentucky Derby (but none in the Preakness or Belmont Stakes. Flavien Prat, his jockey, has some big race experience with a win in the Kentucky Derby (2019) and Preakness.
Many believe that he could have won the Kentucky Derby if he had a cleaner run. Prat will undoubtedly keep that in mind this go around.
