Tuesday's Best College Football Week 9 Bets

Kennesaw State (-3) at Florida International | O/U 49.5 (-110/-110)
This Kennesaw State team looks like a Conference USA contender and remains one of the last two undefeated teams in the conference. This is proving to be a great defense, as they have allowed fewer than 20 points in four out of six games, including against Power Four program Wake Forest. The Owls have had a bend-but-don't-break approach, allowing over 300 total yards in five games, but they have been able to make key stops when needed.
Florida International might have been on the verge of another disappointing season, but maybe last week changed the trajectory. Coming in as more than a touchdown underdog, the Panthers came away with a shocking 25-6 road upset over Western Kentucky. Ground and pound was the key, with 249 rushing yards on five yards per carry. It was their best defensive effort as the Panthers allowed fewer than 30 points for the first time this season.
Kennesaw State's offense hasn't been anything special, averaging 5.5 yards per play (66th). Both offenses choose to be run heavier teams, so this could be a slow-paced game with not much scoring.

Western Kentucky at Louisiana Tech (-3.5) | O/U 49.5 (-112/-108)
Western Kentucky needs to shake off that embarrassing home loss to Florida International because it is still a Conference USA title contender. The Panthers saw the return of two of their best cornerbacks for that game. It took the Hilltoppers by surprise as they could only manage two field goals in the first half.
This was a rare poor performance from quarterback Maverick McIvor, marking the first time in 41 games that he threw multiple interceptions and zero touchdowns. He's still 15th in the nation with 1,863 passing yards, and he can rebound. McIvor will need to because Western Kentucky’s defense has not done its part, having allowed fewer than 20 points to just one FBS program.
That might happen again against a Louisiana Tech offense that can put up points. They've been able to score 30+ points in three of their last four games.
Both teams love to play fast and are each in the top 40 in seconds per play. Each team's defense is not its strongest aspect, and they will try to outscore their opponent in what could be an exciting game.
