College Football Week 6 Bets & Picks

(Odds and lines via BettingPros’ consensus betting information)

Let’s dive into our top college football picks and leans for Week 6.

    Iowa vs. Washington

Backing Iowa on the road against a West Coast opponent after a tough loss might seem like a stretch, but Washington inspires little confidence right now. The Huskies have struggled offensively all season, from a sluggish showing in the Apple Cup to scoring just 16 points against Utah State, gaining only 279 yards in a home loss to Minnesota, and delivering another ugly performance against USC last week. Washington ranks 88th in offensive efficiency, 88th in scoring (26.6 PPG), 85th in total offense (380.4 YPG), 130th in third-down conversion rate (29%), and 22nd in punts (24).

Iowa ranks ninth in defensive efficiency, eighth in scoring defense (12.6 PPG), and 25th in total defense. The Hawkeyes should dominate defensively, but they could also struggle to move the ball, especially if QB Hank Brown can't play. Still, backup Hecklinski came off the bench cold last week and completed all five of his passes. Iowa's defense and special teams, including a unit that ranks 20th in net starting field position, should help create short fields and opportunities to come away with at least field goals. The hook could be the difference in covering this spread, and with both teams on a short week, expect an ugly slog. Take the points.

    Pick: Iowa +3.5

    Duke vs. Georgia Tech

This game looks like a clear mismatch between Duke's rushing offense and Georgia Tech's run defense. The Blue Devils rank 12th in rushing offense, 22nd in PFF rushing grade, and 11th in run rate (63.6%). RB Nate Sheppard leads the nation with 161 rushing yards per game, comfortably ahead of Boise State's Dylan Riley in second at 137. Georgia Tech, meanwhile, ranks 123rd in rushing yards allowed per game (189), 57th in PFF run-defense grade, and 99th in defensive efficiency.

The Yellow Jackets are also dealing with several injuries. LT Ethan Mackenny remains out, as does CB Daiquan White, who leads the team's cornerbacks in snaps. Rotational edge defenders Jordan Walker, Noah Carter, and AJ Hoffler are also out, while starting center Jameson Riggs and CB Trae Stevenson are questionable.

Georgia Tech might have the best offense Duke has faced this season, but the matchup still presents problems for the Yellow Jackets. They pass at the 19th-highest rate (54.6%), yet their offensive line ranks 131st in pass blocking. Duke ranks eighth in PFF pass-rush grade and averages 2.75 sacks per game, tied for 32nd nationally. Potential rain and wind could also affect Georgia Tech's pass-heavy offense more than Duke's run-heavy attack. Both teams are coming off a bye, and neither faces an obvious look-ahead spot, with Duke hosting UNC next and Georgia Tech visiting Virginia Tech. Lay the points and take the Blue Devils.

    Pick: Duke -6.5

    Tennessee vs. Arkansas

Picking on Arkansas might seem unfair, but with the Razorbacks sitting at 1-4 ATS, there's little reason to stop. Texas A&M played a mediocre game against Arkansas last week and still won 34-7. The Aggies have struggled to run the ball, ranking 61st at 167.4 yards per game, yet they rushed for 231 yards and dominated time of possession, 38:08 to 21:52, against the Razorbacks.

Tennessee heads to Fayetteville averaging 240.6 rushing yards per game, 14th nationally, led by DeSean Bishop, who ranks 11th in rushing yards. When the Vols struggled to throw against Auburn, Bishop took over with 220 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries. Starting QB Faizon Brandon's absence is a concern, but replacement George MacIntyre may only need to protect the ball for Tennessee to cruise to a comfortable win.

Arkansas' offense hasn't been as bad as its defense, but the Razorbacks haven't scored more than seven points before garbage time in any of their three games against Power Four opponents. A potential look-ahead spot for Tennessee, with Alabama up next, could help Arkansas keep things close. Even so, the spread likely doesn't offer enough points to make the Razorbacks appealing. Arkansas QB KJ Jackson is tied for seventh in turnover-worthy plays, and the team has a minus-three turnover margin. Tennessee could start slowly with a new quarterback, but the Vols should get extra opportunities, control the clock, and wear Arkansas down in the second half. Keep fading the Razorbacks until they stop paying.

    Pick: Tennessee -13.5

    Indiana vs. Nebraska

The Hoosiers haven't quite been the offensive powerhouse they were in 2025, which might explain why this total seems so low. Both teams boast impressive defensive numbers, with Indiana fifth in scoring defense (10.8 PPG allowed) and Nebraska 15th (14.2 PPG allowed). A closer look at their strength of schedule, however, makes those defenses less intimidating. Indiana ranks 107th in strength of schedule, while Nebraska ranks 126th. Even if the Hoosiers haven't matched last year's offensive production, they're still averaging 44.2 PPG, eighth nationally.

Since Curt Cignetti took over at Indiana in 2024, the Hoosiers' games have gone Over at a 61.8% rate, ranking 14th, while their 7-2 Over record as road favorites is tied for sixth. Trends may become less reliable as rosters change from year to year, but Cignetti's willingness to keep his foot on the gas has remained consistent. Indiana ranks third in fourth-quarter scoring this season (13 PPG), after finishing 24th in 2025 (8.7) and second in 2024 (11.7).

Nebraska is 3-2 to the Over this season and surpassed the full game total on its own against Ohio and Bowling Green. Last week, the Cornhuskers scored 48 points against a total of 52.5 in a 48-23 win over Maryland. Wind is projected to have a mild impact on this matchup, but not enough to steer us away from the Over or discourage the public from backing it.

    Pick: OVER 48.5
