MLB Home Run Props & Picks: Sunday (10/4)

It might be the playoffs, but that won’t stop us. We nailed all three home run props on Saturday - Kyle Tucker, Jonathan Aranda and Jackson Chourio. We’re in midseason form, even in the playoffs. Here are three more MLB home run props that I’ll be adding to the portfolio for today’s two-game slate.

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

    Jackson Merrill (+390)

Jackson Merrill has slugged a .185 ISO and a wOBA of .412 against his last 71 righties. The left-handed hitter leads the team in barrel rate (16%) in the last month against righties. He also sports a team-high 66% hard-hit rate.

Today, Merrill will take on Logan Henderson of the Brewers, who has allowed a .243 ISO and a wOBA of .323 against his last 42 lefties. Henderson has allowed 48% of hard contact and an 8% barrel rate against righties.

    Merrill can surely take advantage.

    Garrett Mitchell (+630)

Michael King will pitch for the Padres. The righty has allowed just a .068 ISO and a .255 wOBA against his last 81 lefties. That said, he’s still allowed 28.6% of line drives and 42.9% of hard contact against lefties.

If anyone is going to make strong contact against King, it’ll be Garrett Mitchell of the Brewers. Mitchell has a .235 ISO and a .412 wOBA, while adding 42.4% of line drives and a 12.1% barrel rate.

King allowed 26.8% of fly balls to 489 lefties this season. I’ll give Mitchell a shot.

    Ronald Acuna Jr. (+470)

The Dodgers have announced Blake Snell as tonight’s starting pitcher. He’s allowed over 30% of fly balls to righties and has given up 42.4% of hard contact. Snell has added just 21.3% of strikeouts and doesn’t induce many ground balls.

Ronald Acuna Jr. has hit 42.1% of fly balls and a 10.5% barrel rate against lefties in the last 30 days. He’s also added a .192 ISO and a .344 wOBA against his last 31 lefties.

The Braves don’t have a strong lineup against lefties, but if anyone is going to step up, it’d be Acuna. He has hit 42.1% of hard contact and a 10.5% barrel rate against lefties in the last month.

Snell has also allowed a .364 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties in the last 30 days. Give Acuna a chance.
