Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees
There's no way to sugarcoat it, the Yankees' offense has been terrible in the playoffs. They're hitting just .169 with 83 strikeouts, and most of their runs have come from the long ball. Last night was supposed to be make-or-break, and getting shut out at home is more like disintegrating.
It's been the Astros that have gotten the big hits in this series. They had three home runs in Game 1, the deciding three-run home run from Alex Bregman in Game 2, and a two-run home run from Chas McCormick after the Harrison Bader error was all the Astros needed to take a 3-0 series lead.
You can favor the Yankees in the pitching matchup with Nestor Cortez against Lance McCullers, but the offense has done nothing throughout both series, and it looks like Houston will be celebrating in the Bronx.
