Tuesday’s Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
PrizePicks Season Record: 5-9
This prop is a trap. Jimmy Butler has gone over 28.5 for this combo twice all season. He's scored more than 20 points just once this season, and he's pulled down fewer than eight rebounds in all but his first game.
With a line this fishy, we have to go against the grain. Tonight, Butler faces the second-worst scoring defense in the NBA, the Hornets. He's struggled over the past two games but still puts up plenty of shots. We expect Butler to score plenty of points Against a team that allows opponents to make 49.1% of shots. But in case he gets stuck around 20 again, we will back this combo rather than his points over. In four of his eight games, he's pulled down at least six rebounds.
Chet Holmgren is averaging 7.6 rebounds per game. That makes him far from a sure thing regarding this prop. However, Holmgren has pulled down at least six rebounds in his last six games. During that span, he's averaging 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Spurs are allowing opponents 56.0 rebounds per game this season. That's the fourth-worst mark in the league. What's even more incredible about that number is that the Spurs are also allowing opponents to make the highest percentage of field goals. So even when teams make a lot of shots, the Spurs still give up a considerable amount of rebounds. The Thunder make the fourth-highest percentage of field goals in the league. That won't stop Holmgren from getting his rebounds over tonight.
Nikola Jokic has been putting up a lot of three-pointers this season. He’s had just two games in November with three or fewer attempts. He's attempted at least six deep balls in his other four games. More shots don't always mean more makes for Jokic, but we’re happy to take his over tonight with how much he likes to shoot from deep.
The Clippers are allowing opponents to make 35.3% of their three-point attempts. That's tied for the 15th-best mark in the league. Jokic may struggle to get many points in the paint tonight, so we expect him to attempt a few more three-pointers as he looks to score somehow. Against a middling three-point defense, we expect him to have success.
