The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to extend a four-game winning streak with a road matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
Tampa Bay was just 4-6 four games ago. Now they’re 8-4 and have every intention of making the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Cowboys aren’t in the same boat. They’re 6-8 and lost starting quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of the season. Cooper Rush has taken over and has helped lead Dallas to wins in three of their last four games.

The Dallas Cowboys have been slightly below average this season. The only area where Dallas has been above average is the pass rush unit.
Ultimately, Dallas has still allowed 27.14 points per game and has given up 219.93 yards in the air and another 136.07 yards on the ground. The Cowboys have struggled to tackle and haven’t been great at stopping the run.
With that in mind, the Buccaneers’ offense matches up well. Tampa Bay has recorded 244 yards passing and another 144.29 yards on the ground per game. Bucky Irving has taken over the lead running back role. He recorded 117 yards rushing on 15 carries against the Chargers. He averaged 7.8 yards a rush in that game.
He should have no problems breaking free against the Cowboys’ run defense. In addition, Tampa Bay has done a very nice job protecting Baker Mayfield throughout the season. Not every offensive line can contain Dallas’ pass rush. Tampa Bay can.
Therefore, consider the Buccaneers on the road.

The Dallas Cowboys rank dead last in rushing yards allowed to quarterbacks this season. Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield has earned at least 16 rushing yards in 57% of his games this season.
Additionally, he’s coming off a game with 25 rushing yards against the Chargers and has averaged 3.5 rushing attempts in his last 10 games.
With those 3.5 rushing attempts per game, Mayfield has also recorded about six yards per rush. If he can get just three rushes, he’ll likely get more than 16 yards on the ground tonight.
