Detroit Lions vs. Carolina Panthers (Game Pick)

The Carolina Panthers have scored 34+ points twice. However, in their last game against Cleveland, the Panthers scored only 18 points in a 21-18 loss.

The Panthers will want to lean on their passing game. The Lions have allowed nearly 300 passing yards per game this season. Meanwhile, the Panthers rank first in the NFL in passing yards per game, averaging 295.7 yards through the air. Xavier Legette is out, but I expect Jalen Coker to play. He will help the passing game do its thing against the Lions.

Meanwhile, the Lions want to rush the ball frequently with Jahmyr Gibbs. He has 307 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on 65 carries. Carolina has allowed 193.3 rushing yards per game. Gibbs can really take advantage of how poor the Panthers have been on the ground defensively.

This matchup favors both offenses. Therefore, we’re backing the over of 50.5 points.

      Pick: Over 50.5 Points (-120)

Jahmyr Gibbs Rushing Yards (Player Prop)

Jahmyr Gibbs has averaged almost 80 rushing yards per game in his last 10 games. His rushing line is set at 94.5, and I’ll still back the over.

Gibbs rushed for 99 yards against the Jets and has cracked this line in two of his first three games this season. Gibbs recorded at least 20 rushing attempts in both games where he went over, and you’d expect him to get a ton of reps in this matchup against the Panthers.

Without David Montgomery, Gibbs has become a true workhorse for the Lions. The Panthers rank 32nd against the run. They have allowed the fifth-most yards per carry to running backs. As long as Gibbs doesn’t run to the left end, he’ll be fine.

Let’s back him to go over 94.5 rushing yards. It’s an incredible matchup for Gibbs.

Pick: Jahmyr Gibbs Over 94.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
