The Lions are 3.5-point road favorites against the Panthers, and the game total is 51.0 points, setting the stage for a fun Sunday Night Football shootout. Rain is in the weather forecast, but it’s not projected to be windy enough to deter enthusiasm for a shootout. Still, it warrants mentioning and monitoring. The following four-leg NFL Sunday Night Football same game parlay (SGP) leans into shootout expectations, with one anytime touchdown scorer pick and three overs.

NFL Sunday Night Football Same Game Parlay: Lions vs. Panthers
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Detroit Lions at Carolina Panthers
- Leg 1: Jahmyr Gibbs 80+ Rushing Yards (-214)
- Leg 2: Jahmyr Gibbs Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-330)
- Leg 3: Jameson Williams Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
- Leg 4: Darren Waller Over 28.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Jahmyr Gibbs is off to an electrifying start. According to the Fantasy Points Data Suite 2.0, among 43 running backs with at least 20 rush attempts, Gibbs is fourth in rushing yards per game (102.3), 11th in yards per carry (4.72), second in explosive run rate (19.3%), seventh in success rate (58.5%), 17th in stuff rate (41.5%) and second in missed tackles forced per game (6.33).
Gibbs has rushed for 156, 52 and 99 yards in three games this season, reaching at least 80 yards in Detroit’s two victories and falling short in their only loss. Gibbs has also scored six touchdowns, finding the end zone in all three games.
Gibbs has a drool-inducing matchup this week. The Panthers are 23rd in pass rate over expected (PROE) faced this year (-2.1%), which is understandable since running backs have trounced them. Carolina has allowed NFL highs in rushing yards per game (144.7) and yards per carry (5.86) to running backs this season. Thus, FantasyPros’ consensus projections have Gibbs at 97.4 rushing yards and 1.2 touchdowns.
Jameson Williams is in a get-right spot. Carolina’s starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson are both injured and out. Obviously, the absences of Carolina’s starting cornerbacks are a plus for Williams, but their coverage tendencies are, too. The Panthers have played single-high coverage at the fifth-highest rate (63.5%) this season, well above the league average of 49.4%.
Williams has tallied a 0.20 target per route run (TPRR) and 2.17 yards per route run (YPRR) on 593 routes against single-high coverage since 2024. Josh Norris of Yahoo! also pointed out an interesting film observation of rookie fill-in starting cornerback Will Lee.
Williams is averaging only 42.3 receiving yards per game this season, but his 87.6% route participation rate and 29% air yard share are stellar, and he’s left meat on the bone with three drops. FantasyPros consensus projections have Williams at 55.1 receiving yards, putting him over 50.5.
The underdog Panthers will likely need to pass early and often to keep up with Detroit’s high-powered offense, but they don’t need their arm twisted to play fast or throw the ball. According to the Fantasy Points Data Suite 2.0, the Panthers rank fourth in PROE (7.5%) and are tied for first in situation-neutral pace this season. The fast pace is also a plus for Gibbs’ and Williams’ overs. The Lions are also third in PROE faced (8.3%), which is good for the receiving outlook for Carolina’s pass-catching weapons.
Darren Waller isn’t at the top of the Panthers’ pass-catching pecking order. Nevertheless, he earns targets when he’s on the field. Waller has recorded the following numbers in three games this season:
- 42.3% snap share
- 49.6% route participation rate
- 9.8% target share
- 0.18 TPRR
- 8.5% air yard share
- 3.3 receptions per game
- 37.3 receiving yards per game
- 1.70 YPRR
The veteran tight end isn’t posting world-beater numbers. He only had a 33.9% snap share and 37.2% route participation rate in Week 1, though. In two games since then, Waller has ticked up to a 46.3% snap share and 55.6% route participation rate. Jalen Coker is banged up, and Xavier Legette is out. As a result, the Panthers could lean on Waller a bit more in a shootout. He should clear the low bar of 28.5 receiving yards against a Lions defense that has allowed an NFL-high 117 receiving yards per game to tight ends this season.
