The MLB postseason rolls on today. We get to enjoy and bet on a pair of Game 2 National League Division Series (NLDS) matchups (San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers series, Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers). All four games were pretty competitive and tightly contested yesterday, and there is a good chance we'll see more of the same today. I've considered that and so much more with today’s top MLB picks.

San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers
This prop didn’t hit yesterday because both teams scored two runs in the first five innings, but I am not confident they will not do so again today. The Padres had the best batting average in baseball after the All-Star break (.270). The Brewers were a close second at .263. Both averaged 5.5 runs per game. But the postseason tends to bring out the best in pitchers.
Padres starter Michael King gave up 10 earned runs over his last three starts (all on the road) of the regular season. In his start against the Cubs in the Wild Card Round, he pitched seven shutout innings, giving up just one hit and striking out eight. Logan Henderson has yet to pitch in the postseason but had one start against the Padres in the regular season. He gave up three runs in that start, but only one inside the first five innings.
King also started versus the Brewers once in the regular season, giving up a single run in the fifth inning.
San Diego is hitting .300 in the postseason (three games), and Milwaukee is hitting .226. But both pitchers have shut down the other for five innings and will do so again today.
Pick: First Five Innings Under 3.5 Runs (+114)
Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Not knowing which pitcher Atlanta plans to start today makes it hard to predict how this game will go. We can only offer a general assessment of how the Dodgers’ lineup may hit, since we don't know who they'll face or whether the Braves can control the game from the mound.
We do know the Braves have hit .206 in the postseason. In Games 1 and 2 versus the Phillies in the Wild Card Round, the score was 1-1 after the first five innings. But in Game 3, they had a 5-0 lead after the fifth and didn't score until the sixth inning against the Dodgers yesterday.
Blake Snell made nine outings in the regular season. He lasted at least five innings in six of them and never allowed more than one run. If he goes five innings today, I'll bet on the Dodgers’ lineup recording a run against whoever the Braves start because that's probably all they'll need to lead after the first five innings.
Pick: Dodgers First Five Innings Moneyline (+108)
