Best NFL Week 6 PrizePicks Player Predictions
The Panthers (2-3) are coming off a 27-24 comeback victory over the lowly Dolphins, and they'll try to keep things rolling when they host the Cowboys (2-2-1) on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
We nailed Tetairoa McMillan for more than 59.5 receiving yards in last week's PrizePicks article, and I'm heading right back to the well. The rookie receiver has had an immediate impact in Carolina, racking up 351 receiving yards (15th) on 24 receptions (23rd). His 8.6 targets per game are the 11th-most in the NFL. McMillan has cleared the 66.5-yard threshold three times in five games, and he's averaging 70.2 receiving yards per game.
PrizePicks has adjusted by moving McMillan's yardage totals higher, but considering this is a matchup against the lowly Dallas defense, I still think there's room to go higher. This Cowboys defense is bad. They're allowing 412 yards per game (32nd), with 284.6 of those yards coming through the air (32nd). Opposing quarterbacks are completing 72.38% of their passes (30th) against them. Pro Football Focus (PFF) has Dallas graded as the 16th-best pass-rushing group (69.9), so Bryce Young should have plenty of time to pick apart their secondary and get the rock to McMillan downfield.
After a season-opening 20-13 win against the Patriots, the Raiders (1-4) have now dropped four straight games. Coach Pete Carroll and his squad will attempt to snap the slide when they host the Titans (1-4) in Sin City on Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is set for 4:05 p.m. ET from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
Tennessee has plenty of issues this season, but the one that I'm looking to profit from this weekend is their horrendous rushing defense. The Titans enter Week 6 ranked 30th in rushing yards allowed per game (146.8) and 28th in rushing yards allowed per attempt (five). Tennessee’s rush defense grade ranks 23rd (60.4), according to PFF. Most importantly, they're a mediocre 15th in tackling (58).
Ashton Jeanty is going nuclear this weekend. We saw him torch another bottom-tier rushing defense in Chicago a few weeks back, gaining 138 yards on 21 totes (6.6 yards per carry). He's also coming off a 67-yard rushing outing against a decent Colts front seven. The workload is there as well, as Jeanty is averaging 16.4 carries per game. Chip Kelly should feed Jeanty this weekend, and I think the rookie is set to have a monster outing in front of his home fans.
My PrizePicks card spills over to Monday Night Football, where I'm narrowing in on this NFC matchup between the Bears (2-2) and the Commanders (3-2). Chicago's coming off a bye week, while Washington went on the road and hammered the Chargers 27-10 last weekend. The Week 6 finale gets underway at 8:15 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, MD.
Caleb Williams has only cleared 230.5 passing yards once in four games (in Week 3 vs. Dallas with 298 yards), but he's averaging 231.8 passing yards per contest. Chicago is well-rested, coming off their bye week, and with the extra time off, I expect to see Ben Johnson and this Bears offense come out firing. They're averaging 33.3 passing attempts per game (13th) and are graded as the 11th-best passing unit in the NFL, per PFF.
Additionally, I like this matchup against the Commanders. Washington is graded as the worst pass coverage unit (40.2), and they're also just 22nd in tackling (48.3). The Commanders are 23rd in passing yards allowed per game (235.0). With the extra week of prep and an absolute arsenal of weapons to distribute the ball to, we should see Williams turn in a solid game under the primetime lights.
