From 2021-2023, there were at least three Major League Baseball teams that won 100+games. After an outlier year last year that did not have a single 100-game winner, the Los Angeles and Detroit Tigers are the only two teams on pace to reach the 100-win plateau. Will those teams get into the win column again today? Read on for our top MLB picks and predictions for Friday, June 27th.

Friday's Best MLB Picks & Bets
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Toronto Blue Jays (-112) at Boston Red Sox (-104) | O/U 8.5 (-122/+100)
The Boston Red Sox enter this series amid a five-game losing streak for the second time this season, while being out-scored 29-16.
Since June 16th (the first game after the Rafael Devers trade), Boston’s 53 wRC+ and 3.1 runs per game are the worst in the league, while its -13.6% PS odds difference ranks 29th. Its defense has been pathetic, leading the Majors in errors with 69 (Colorado is the only other team with 55 or more). The Red Sox also have 19 one-run losses (tied for the second-most in the league), and their bullpen has allowed eight walk-offs. That is the most in the Majors to this point, and already exceeds the five they allowed last year.
Boston’s Moneyline odds are inflated as it has the rest advantage after an off day, while Toronto finished a series with Cleveland. But I am backing Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays despite the rest disadvantage. Berrios has won each of his last two starts while allowing three earned runs in 14.2 innings in his last two starts at Fenway Park.
Pick: Blue Jays Moneyline (-112)
San Diego Padres (-138) at Cincinnati Reds (+118) | O/U 9.0 (-122/+100)
The Padres are coming off their MLB-best 13th shutout win of the season, and their fourth by a score of 1-0. That should regress over the season, as should their 17-12 overall record in one-run games.
Cincinnati took two out of three games from the American League East-leading Yankees, with its only loss coming against Max Fried. There is no shame in that, as he became the first pitcher this season to win 10 games.
The Reds enjoyed a rare off day while not having to travel for this game. They are also one of the most profitable teams in the league as home underdogs (11-6, 64.7% win rate).
San Diego has not won consecutive games that Dylan Cease has started in any of his last 11 starts. So the fact that he is coming off just his third win of the season is even more reason to back Cincinnati at these odds.
Pick: Reds Moneyline (+118)
Los Angeles Dodgers (-154) at Kansas City Royals (+130) | O/U 9.5 (-105/-115)
The Royals enter this game having lost five straight and 13 out of 18 games. They have scored two runs or fewer in 11 of those 13 losses over that span. Before yesterday’s 4-0 loss to the Rays, the Royals batted .145 as a team and scored four total runs over the four-game losing streak.
Given Kansas City’s offensive deficiencies of late, I am skeptical of the Dodgers’ -154 Moneyline odds, especially since it is the only team in the Majors to go 8-2 or better over its last 10 games. Those odds suggest the Dodgers are in for a poor offensive day, so I am backing Kansas City’s team total under. Nine or more runs have been scored in four of Dustin May’s last five starts. However, he does not shoulder much of the blame for those high-scoring affairs, as he has made quality starts in four of his previous six outings.
Pick: Royals Team Total Under 4.5 Runs (-146)
