2026 Preakness Stakes Predictions: Pretty Boy Miah
- Post Position: 14
- Odds: 15-1
Pretty Boy Miah is the field’s most unconventional entrant: a gelding who has never run in a stakes race and got his maiden win just six weeks ago. The Beau Liam gelding won his last two starts after blinkers were added for that March 29 maiden score at Aqueduct, suggesting a horse who needed focus more than time. Trainer Jeremiah Englehart believes the raw speed figures are Preakness-competitive even without a graded stakes line on the résumé. This take is either a genuinely sharp read or extraordinary optimism; Saturday evening will reveal all. Neither Englehart nor jockey Ricardo Santana Jr. has won the Preakness, with Santana's 3rd place showing in 2018 his best finish.
