He's been great over the last two months, with the team going 9-1 in his last ten starts.

The season started well for Johan Oviedo, but like the Pirates as a whole, it's been going downward. He's now lost seven-straight decisions over nine starts with a 4.82 ERA, and the Pirates are scoring 2.4 runs per game in that span.
The All Star break couldn't reset the Pittsburgh with another loss, and I can't see the struggling Oviedo resetting them.

Chicago White Sox at Atlanta Braves
The Braves went into the All Star break with the best record in the league. Spencer Strider never struggled last year, as opposed to a couple of rough starts in 2023, but looking at his metrics, he is still one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. His 38.9 strikeout rate is a league-best, and he's in the 90th+ percentile in xBA, whiff rate, fastball velocity, and chase rate.

Lance Lynn was the epitome of consistency for many years, but it has not been there in 2023. He's coming off his best start of the season, allowing one hit and 11 strikeouts over seven innings against the Blue Jays, but he's allowed the most runs and home runs this season.
These are the Braves with the most runs scored per game in the National League and the best home run percentage in the league. Add Strider against the White Sox, who are 20th in strikeout percentage, and it should be an easy win.

Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels

There is a reason Framber Valdez is currently the odds favorite to win the American League Cy Young. He has great command of the strike zone, and his curveball is falling off the table with the spin in the 91st percentile, with batters having a .239 SLG off the pitch. He already has two dominant starts against Los Angeles, allowing one earned and striking out 19 in 15 innings.
The Angels crawled into the All Star break, have lost 11 of their last 12, and are eight games out in the American League West. Reid Detmers had a great rookie season, and while he's become a better strikeout pitcher this year, it hasn't resulted in success this season. He has seen Houston once this year and allowed four earned in five innings, earning the loss.
Not a good time for the Halos to face a pitcher they haven't beaten, especially with this franchise on the brink of what could be a massive change.
