Rory McIlroy had an epic victory at last year's Masters to earn his first Green Jacket. Can he successfully defend his title, or will the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win at Augusta for the third time in five years? Course History
English missed the cut in his 2014 Masters debut but has since made the cut in each of his five subsequent appearances. A final-round 68 propelled English to a career-best 12th-place finish at Augusta last year.
Recent Form
English is having a strange season. He’s finished 28th or better in seven of his eight 2026 starts, the exception being a missed cut at the Players Championship. And yet Harris doesn’t have a single top 20 this year. He keeps landing anywhere from 21st to 28th. He’s making cuts and hanging around but not seriously contending.

2026 Masters Outlook & Predictions
With his mediocre iron play, English will probably never make enough birdies to seriously contend for a Green Jacket. But English is an excellent putter and scrambler who historically has done his best work on difficult courses, so he can’t be completely discounted.
Betting Outlook: 2026 Masters Picks
The consummate grinder, English has a game that gives him a high floor and a limited ceiling. The tougher the scoring conditions this week, the more I’ll like English. If the forecast calls for dry, breezy conditions, I’ll be betting English for a top 20 and perhaps a top 10 as well. If soft conditions and negligible winds set up good scoring conditions, I won’t be backing English at all.
