2026 Masters Picks & Predictions: Shane Lowry

2026 Masters Picks & Predictions: Shane Lowry

The best golfers in the world will be in Augusta, Georgia, this week for the first major of the year, The Masters. We’re going to share our top 2026 Masters picks and predictions.

Augusta National Golf Club is simultaneously a feast for the eyes and a stern test of golfing acumen. The Georgia pines and blooming azaleas highlight Augusta's beauty, but this world-renowned course demands precise ballstriking and short-game excellence.

Rory McIlroy had an epic victory at last year's Masters to earn his first Green Jacket. Can he successfully defend his title, or will the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win at Augusta for the third time in five years? PGA Tour stars Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele are looking for a career-altering victory, and big-hitting LIV Tour stalwarts Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau will be in the hunt.

Welcome to the fifth annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We'll take a deep dive into the field, taking a closer look at the players contending for the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Read on.

Course History

The burly Irishman was playing some good golf when he arrived at Augusta National in 2022 and finished third, five shots behind winner Scottie Scheffler. Lowry has finished inside the top 20 only one other time, and he’s been outside the top 40 in each of the last two years.

Recent Form

Lowry seemed to be on the way to victory at the Cognizant Classic in late February, leading by three shots with three holes to play. But Lowry hit an iceberg, double-bogeying the 16th and 17th holes, and was overtaken by Nico Echavarria. Perhaps shaken by that ugly collapse, Lowry missed the cut in his next two events. He took a much-needed week off and then finished 28th at the Houston Open, his most recent event.

2026 Masters Outlook & Predictions

It’s an accepted truth that golf is largely a mental game. Lowry might still be reeling from his meltdown at the Cognizant Classic, and Augusta National isn’t the best place to regain one’s confidence.

Betting Outlook: 2026 Masters Picks

With an unremarkable recent track record and poor recent form, Lowry is a stay-away.
