Meanwhile, Henderson has a 2.08 ERA, 2.59 xFIP, 0.92 WHIP, 6.2 BB% and 35.8 K% in his first time through the order as a starter this year.
Their early-game dominance starts from the opening inning. Jones has a 9-2 NRFI-YRFI record in 11 starts, spinning five straight NRFI and going 5-0 on the road, with stops at Sutter Health Park and Coors Field. Henderson has an 8-1 NRFI-YRFI record, with six straight NRFI and a 3-1 record at home.
The first-inning dominance of both hurlers makes it worth eating the -140 chalk for the NRFI in this National League Central matchup.

Trey Yesavage was impressive last year, getting thrown into the fire for the Blue Jays. He’s been far less impressive this season. The righty has a 3.73 ERA, 3.34 xERA, 4.58 xFIP and 4.50 SIERA in 17 starts this season. Yesavage isn’t showing signs of turning it on, either.
Instead, in his last five starts spanning 24.1 innings, Yesavage has amassed the following numbers:

Yesavage has done an outstanding job in his first time through the order as a starter this season, spinning a 1.66 ERA. However, his 4.11 xFIP indicates he’s also been lucky.
Yesavage also hasn’t been flawless in the first inning. He has a ho-hum 11-6 NRFI-YRFI record, going 6-3 on the road. Yesavage is also the better pitcher in this matchup.
Hayden Wesneski is the other starter. He surrendered three runs in the first inning to the Angels in his season debut for the Astros on July 29th.
Wesneski is mediocre in his first time through the order as a starter, too. He has a 4.76 ERA, 4.08 xFIP and 1.59 WHIP in his first time through the order in his only start this year. Wesneski also had a 4.50 ERA, 3.81 xFIP and 1.09 WHIP in his first time through the order as a starter in six starts in 2025.
Finally, per Baseball Reference, Wesneski yielded five runs and a 1.011 OPS in the first inning of six starts last season. The Astros, Blue Jays or both should get on the board in the first inning tonight.
