Tampa Bay Rays (-162) at Athletics (+134) | O/U 10.0 (-108/-112)
The Athletics don’t have the most potent offense because of injuries to Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers. Nevertheless, Freddy Peralta might be just what their healthy hitters need to shine.
The 30-year-old righty has had a miserable campaign. According to FanGraphs, in 23 starts spanning 117.1 innings in 2026, Peralta is responsible for the following stats:

- 3.95 xERA
- 4.25 xFIP
- 4.29 SIERA
- 1.52 WHIP
- 9.2% walk rate
- 21.8% strikeout rate
- 11.3% SwStr%
- 25% CSW%
- 96 stuff+
- 104 location+
- 101 pitching+
Peralta has also coughed up a .340 wOBA to 192 right-handed batters and a .363 wOBA to 339 left-handed batters this year.
Moreover, Peralta has done his worst work on the road. In 10 road tilts, totaling 49.1 innings this year, Peralta has been roughed up for a 7.11 ERA, 4.56 xFIP and 1.66 WHIP. He’s also allowed a .365 wOBA to 90 right-handed batters on the road and a .419 wOBA to 138 left-handed batters on the road. Again, Peralta might be just what the A’s need on offense.
As for their pitching, they’re sending the red-hot Jacob Lopez to the hill. In the lefty’s last five starts spanning 21.1 innings, he’s dazzled with the following numbers:

Lopez’s matchup isn’t too shabby, either. The Rays are tied for 22nd in wRC+ (91) versus lefties and tied for 11th in wRC+ (99) on the road this season. Tampa Bay is also tied for 25th in wRC+ (82) in the previous 14 days.
The Rays are better than the A’s, but they’re too chalky with Peralta toeing the slab. Backing a locked-in Lopez at plus-money odds is appealing.
Pick: Athletics Moneyline (+134)
Houston Astros (-163) at San Francisco Giants (+135) | O/U 8.0 (-119/-101)
Blade Tidwell will take the ball for the Giants tonight. He has a 3.18 ERA, 3.28 xERA, 4.32 xFIP and 4.03 SIERA in 17 innings this year. Those marks are aided by making only one start and eight relief appearances. He was putrid in two starts and two relief appearances for the Mets last season.
As a result, Tidwell has the following numbers in the Majors across 13 appearances (three starts), totaling 32 innings:

- 5.37 xFIP
- 4.98 SIERA
- 1.66 WHIP

Tidwell has also coughed up a .329 wOBA to 79 right-handed batters and a .396 wOBA to 68 left-handed batters in his MLB career.
The 25-year-old wasn’t particularly impressive in the minors this season, either - 4.38 ERA, 4.46 xERA and 5.12 xFIP in 16 appearances (15 starts) in Triple-A.
San Francisco’s relievers are also a favorable matchup for the Astros. The Giants are tied for 21st in bullpen ERA (4.33).
The Astros don’t have a world-beater lineup. Still, eight of their projected starters have logged at least a 99 wRC+ against righties since 2024. The Astros should take advantage of the plum draw and surpass 4.5 runs tonight.
