Shane McClanahan Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-170)
This strikeout line for Shane McClanahan is hovering in the 4.5- to 5.5-strikeout range, but I do think it's smarter to lay the juice and play the Over against the smaller number. For starters, Texas' offense has been hitting well, so we have to respect what they're doing at the dish right now.
However, they're running into a buzzsaw in McClanahan. He has been untouchable at home this seasons with a 1.88 ERA, while holding opponents to a .191 batting average. The left-hander has amassed 42 strikeouts across 48.0 innings at Tropicana Field, which equates to a respectable 7.88 strikeout per nine rate. Add in that the Rangers have the ninth-highest strikeout rate (25.1%) over the last seven days, and I believe McClanahan is primed for a big performance.
Brandon Lowe Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-150)
Pittsburgh's Brandon Lowe has been one of the hottest hitters in the league this week. Over the last seven days specifically, he's second in wOBA (.567) and hitting an insane .471. Lowe has cleared 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI in three of his last four games.
Pittsburgh's offense will face Cincinnati's Rhett Lowder, who is struggling this year with a 5.61 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. Lowe is 1-for-1 (1.000) against Lowder with an RBI. Even if Lowder doesn't work deep into this game, Lowe should have opportunities late against this Reds relief staff that's 25th in ERA (4.52) and WHIP (1.45). Let's ride with Lowe to stay hot.
Bryan Woo Under 17.5 Pitching Outs Recorded (+100)
When the dust settles on Thursday night, we may look back and be scratching our heads wondering why Bryan Woo's pitching outs number is as high as 17.5. Essentially, the sports betting market is asking whether or not Woo will log a quality start or work through the sixth inning.
I'll gladly bet against this, especially at even-money, as Woo faces arguably the most dynamic offense in the sport. Over the last seven days, the Dodgers are eighth in wOBA (.343) and seventh in ISO (.169). Furthermore, Woo has been horrendous on the road this season, registering a 6.52 ERA and allowing opponents to hit .304 against him. Let's back to potent Los Angeles offense to chase Woo early.
