We are in the final week of the 2026 Major League Baseball regular season. Even if some games don’t have playoff implications, there are always angles we can take advantage of. I intend to do just that with three of my favorite MLB player props for Wednesday, September 23.

Wednesday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(All bets one unit, unless otherwise specified.)
Connor Prielipp Over 14.5 Pitching Outs (-154 at FanDuel)
For my first player prop for Wednesday, I am backing Connor Prielipp of the Minnesota Twins. Specifically, I am betting he makes it through five innings against the San Francisco Giants. This prop is a bit juicy, but I think it is worth taking here.
Prielipp is finishing up his rookie campaign on a bright note. The left-hander shut out the Los Angeles Angels over seven innings in his last start. Prielipp has lasted at least five innings in 12 consecutive starts. A matchup with the Giants is not one that bettors should fear as their disappointing season winds down.
This version of the Giants is missing nearly every regular hitter they have used for most of the season. San Francisco has nine hitters who have at least 300 plate appearances this year. Six of the nine are currently on the Injured List, while two were traded away in July. Drew Gilbert is the last man standing, and he may not even start on Wednesday. Gilbert is 3-for-49 versus left-handed pitching this year, including 0-for-12 at home.
The rest of the squad is a ragtag bunch of call-ups from their Minor League system in the wake of their injury woes. San Francisco hitters have a combined 68 wRC+ in September when facing left-handed pitching at home. This matchup should help Prielipp finish the year strong. At the very least, he should keep his five-inning streak intact.
Ian Seymour Under 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (+105 at Fanatics)
Next, I am taking Tampa Bay starter Ian Seymour to allow one earned run or fewer against the New York Yankees. This bet is based on the matchup and the circumstances surrounding this game.
Following Tuesday's doubleheader, both the Rays and Yankees are locked into their playoff seeding. Tampa Bay is the top seed in the American League, while New York will host the Wild Card round. Neither team has much incentive to put its best lineup on the field on Wednesday. That is especially true for the Yankees, after six regulars played both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader. I think Seymour will get the B-squad on Wednesday.
Yankees hitters are collectively 9-for-39 with a walk against Seymour. Ben Rice and Cody Bellinger have done most of that damage, going 6-for-11. That aligns with Seymour's reverse splits this season. Seymour has allowed lefties to slug .524 against him compared to a .411 mark for right-handed hitters. Rice and Bellinger are two of four lefty hitters who played in both games on Tuesday for New York. Some of those players will likely sit in this matchup, which should benefit Seymour.
Seymour's pitching outs line is currently set at 14.5 and is heavily juiced to the Over. If that price comes down, I would love to bet him to pitch five innings. But for now, I am going with Seymour to limit the Yankees to one earned run or less.
Denzer Guzman Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-128 at DraftKings)
For my final MLB player prop for Wednesday, I am betting on Denzer Guzman of the Los Angeles Angels to register at least two total hits, runs, and runs batted in against Jeffrey Springs and the Athletics.
Guzman has put up good numbers at the plate for the Angels over the last two weeks. He has scored eight runs and driven in nine in that timeframe, while hitting .265. Guzman has recorded at least two HRRBI in eight of those 13 games overall, including five of six against left-handed starting pitchers.
Wednesday's matchup versus Springs in Sutter Health Park should allow Guzman to improve on those numbers. Guzman homered in two plate appearances during their only prior head-to-head matchup. Los Angeles knocked Springs out in the fourth inning, as the Angels totaled 11 runs.
Springs is wrapping up a miserable season as his struggles in Sacramento continue. The left-hander has allowed 21 home runs and a 6.94 ERA in 15 home starts this year. He has permitted at least four earned runs in six of his last eight home starts.
The Angels enter Wednesday's game with the second-highest wRC+ in the Major Leagues when facing left-handed pitchers on the road. I do not expect Springs to stem that tide suddenly. I believe that the Angels will once again get to Springs, and I expect Denzer Guzman to be one of the offensive catalysts.
