Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Let's lead off our same-game parlays with the Diamondbacks hosting the Dodgers in an NL West showdown. This should be a higher-scoring matchup, so take the over to anchor our picks. Plus, some key hitter props are worth backing as well.

Arizona starter Merrill Kelly is having the worst season of his career, with a 5.04 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. He also brings in a 6.33 ERA at home this year. Though Kelly has been better over the past month, we can fade him in this matchup. The Dodgers have a league-best .340 wOBA and 115 wRC+ against right-handers. Plus, Kelly has a career 5.56 ERA against Los Angeles.

Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy can lead the way for the Dodgers' offense. Freeman is hitting .331 with a .934 OPS against right-handed pitching this year. He also boasts a .343 batting average and .999 OPS on the road. The LA first baseman is on fire lately, too, hitting .500 with a 1.099 OPS over the past 13 games. He had a hand injury scare earlier this week, but should be good to go.

As for Muncy, he has a solid .839 OPS against righties this season. He's also batting .272 with a .911 OPS on the road so far. Notably, the Dodgers' third baseman has owned this head-to-head matchup. Muncy has a .410 batting average (16-for-39) and a 1.090 OPS in his career against Kelly. By the way, Freeman is hitting .313 (10-for-32) with a 1.062 OPS against Arizona's starter during their careers.

On the other side, Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki could run into trouble as well. The righty has a 4.64 ERA this season, including a 4.81 ERA on the road. Meanwhile, Arizona has a top-10 offense against right-handed pitching since the All-Star Break, with a .338 wOBA and 112 wRC+ in the split. The D-backs also boast a league-high .379 wOBA and 139 wRC+ at home since the break.

Let's back Ryan Waldschmidt to be productive as well. The rookie outfielder has been Arizona's hottest hitter lately, as he's batting .471 with a 1.119 OPS over the last 11 games. Waldschmidt is also hitting .372 with a .903 OPS at home this season, and he owns a solid .280 batting average against righties. Sasaki, meanwhile, is allowing an .834 OPS to righty hitters.

      Athletics vs. Boston Red Sox

Let's now turn our attention to the Red Sox hosting the Athletics in an American League matchup on Friday night. These squads are headed in opposite directions right now. Boston has won 17 of 20 games since the All-Star Break, including a current eight-game winning streak. Conversely, the A's are an ugly 5-28 over their last 33 games and have dropped eight in a row heading into tonight.

Back the Red Sox to cover the runline en route to another victory. They're averaging 6.3 runs per game since the break. Plus, 13 of their 17 wins in this second half stretch have come by 2+ runs. Meanwhile, the Athletics have lost by multiple runs in 10 of their 15 losses since the break.

Payton Tolle toes the rubber for Boston. The left-hander owns a 3.30 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 18 starts this season. His 2.97 xERA, which ranks in the 89th MLB percentile, is even more encouraging. He also owns a solid 3.04 ERA over his last five outings. The southpaw's 35.6% chase rate (91st percentile) will especially play well in this matchup.

Tolle will take on an Athletics offense that has a lofty 27.1% strikeout rate with a poor .205 batting average against left-handed pitching on the road this year. Both marks are second-worst in the majors. The A's are also hitting just .191 vs. lefties on the road since the All-Star Break. It sets up well for Tolle to rack up strikeouts. He has 7+ punchouts in four straight starts and 6+ in six of his last seven outings.

On the other side, Jack Perkins brings in a 6.72 ERA on the year. That includes an ugly 7.38 ERA across his nine starts for the Athletics. Meanwhile, the Red Sox boast a .363 wOBA and 130 wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the past two weeks. The offense is red-hot and should get to Perkins early and often.

Willson Contreras and Ceddane Rafaela should both play roles in Boston's run production. Contreras is hitting .321 with a 1.006 OPS at home this year. He's also swinging it well lately, with a .319 batting average and 1.056 OPS since the start of July. Rafaela, meanwhile, has a .329 average and 1.004 OPS over his last 17 games.
