Seattle Mariners vs. New York Yankees
Leg #1: Yankees Moneyline (-130)
You can’t trust either lineup to produce much, since both have hit under .200 over the last week. Ryan Weathers has not been great at home (3-5, 4.11 ERA, .263 opponents’ batting average). Bryan Woo has had a really hard time on the road this season (1-8, 6.71 ERA, .300 opponents’ batting average). Based on the pitching matchup, as both teams are struggling to hit the ball, you have to go with the Yankees to win.
But since their offense is suspect, go with the Moneyline over the run line.
Leg #2: Ben Rice 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-130)
Like most of the Yankees’ lineup, Ben Rice has been struggling lately. But Bryan Woo is struggling on the road; teams are hitting .300 against him. It's a perfect scenario for Rice to wake up and generate some offense.
Leg #3: Under 8.5 Runs (-118)
I don't trust Bryan Woo to contain the Yankees’ lineup. But with how New York's been hitting, don't count on big things from them. Ryan Weathers has been solid at home; the Mariners’ lineup will not go off on him. This will be a low-scoring game.
Parlay Odds: +412 - A $100 wager will result in a $512 payday; your stake plus $412 in winnings.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Athletics
This game screams mismatch. You have one of the best teams in baseball (the Rays) against one of the worst (the A's). One is hitting .262 over the last week (Rays) and the other .214 (A's). Mason Barnett is 1-2 with a 5.56 ERA; Nick Martinez is 11-3 with a 2.65 ERA. Tampa Bay won last night 10-6, and it wouldn't be shocking if the outcome tonight was something similar.
Leg #2: Over 10.0 Runs (-115)
The starters did a pretty decent job last night; it was the relievers that let the score get out of hand. With the A's starting a converted reliever, it looks like they could be going with a bullpen-heavy kind of day. That, along with Sutter Health Park being very hitter-friendly, will help drive the final score over 10 runs.
Leg #3: Chandler Simpson to Hit a Single (-250)
Chandler Simpson has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games and is hitting .407 over the last week. He went 2-for-5 in last night's game. I like his chances of getting a hit tonight, and since 108 of his 126 hits have been singles, we can expect him to hit another one tonight.
Leg #4: Nick Martinez Over 3.5 Strikeouts (+116)
Nick Martinez is not a big strikeout pitcher; he's gone over this number in 11 out of 20 appearances in which he threw at least five innings. But he is facing an A's team tonight that has struck out 64 times over the last week.
