One popular way bettors try to find value on NFL lines is by playing teasers. An NFL teaser is similar to a parlay; you add multiple legs that must all win for the bet to pay out. The key difference from parlays is that a teaser lets you buy points - like 6.0, 6.5 or 7.0 - in a direction that reduces risk. You’ll find our top NFL Week 5 teasers below.
Teaser Tips to Follow:
- Never cross over 0
- Tease through two key numbers, ideally 3 & 7
- Tease games with lower totals, ideally anything 49 or fewer

Jacksonville Jaguars (-7.5 to -1.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
I’ve never been a big fan of betting on overseas games. Weird things tend to happen in London, and you never really know how teams will respond to traveling across the globe. However, this spot for the Jacksonville Jaguars is just too good to ignore.
For starters, playing in London is nothing new for Jacksonville. The Jaguars have made the trip across the pond numerous times, giving them a familiarity edge that most NFL teams simply don’t have.
On top of that, Jacksonville is traveling earlier in the week, allowing extra time to adjust to the time difference and get acclimated. That’s another potential advantage we’ve seen discussed in recent international matchups.
Now, let’s put the travel situation aside and take a look at the banged-up Eagles
Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Marquise Brown, Drew Kendall, Marcus Epps and Uar Bernard are all unavailable for this matchup. Plus Lane Johnson abruptly retired this week. That’s a ton of missing talent on both sides of the football, which at some point has to catch up with you.
Between Jacksonville’s familiarity with London, the earlier travel schedule and Philadelphia’s growing list of absences, the Jaguars have a clear situational advantage heading into this matchup.
Cleveland Browns (+2.5 to +8.5) vs. New York Jets
I know the Jets are playing at home, but I really can’t believe New York is the favorite heading into this matchup. This is another spot where the Cleveland Browns are being overlooked.
The Jets’ defense is coming off a game where it was on the field for 89 snaps. That’s a ton of wear and tear, and now they’re preparing for another tough matchup against a physical Cleveland team.
Offensively, things aren’t looking much better for New York. With Breece Hall out and Adonai Mitchell potentially unavailable, the Jets could be extremely limited in terms of offensive weapons.
This game has an ugly, low-scoring slugfest written all over it.
With the total sitting at just 39.5 points, oddsmakers aren’t exactly expecting an offensive shootout. And when points are expected to be at a premium, getting more than a touchdown becomes even more valuable.
New Orleans Saints (+2.5 to +8.5) vs. Minnesota Vikings
We just watched the New Orleans Saints get absolutely embarrassed on national television in front of their home crowd. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings are one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the NFL.
Yet, somehow, the betting line for this matchup is less than a field goal? Seems a little bizarre, doesn’t it? Well, maybe not when you start digging into the numbers.
Yes, Minnesota is sitting at a perfect 4-0, but that record might be hiding some serious concerns, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.
The Vikings have scored just one offensive touchdown over their last three games.
And the underlying metrics aren’t much prettier.
- 28th in offensive expected points added (EPA)
- Dead last in offensive success rate
- Kyler Murray ranks 28th out of 29 qualified quarterbacks in EPA/play
- Murray ranks 29th out of 29 in quarterback success rate
Those aren’t exactly the numbers you’d expect from an undefeated football team.
And to make matters worse, both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are questionable heading into this matchup. If either one is limited or unable to play, an already struggling Minnesota offense could have an even tougher time moving the football.
Now flip the script to New Orleans.
The Saints just got embarrassed in front of a national audience, and I expect a motivated football team looking to bounce back and make a statement.
This is one of those spots where the public sees an undefeated Vikings team facing a Saints team that just got blown out and automatically assumes Minnesota is the better side.
I’ll gladly take the motivated Saints team with more than a touchdown cushion.
Houston Texans (-7 to -1) vs. Tennessee Titans
A battle of winless AFC South teams takes place this Sunday as the Houston Texans travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans.
Now, I think most of us could have predicted the Titans being in this position, but the Houston Texans sitting at 0-4? That certainly wasn’t on my bingo card.
However, I think it’s safe to say Houston is a much better football team than its record suggests.
Of their four losses, three came down to the final 60 seconds of the game. Think about that for a second. A couple of plays go differently, a few breaks fall their way and we’re potentially looking at a 3-1 Texans team instead of an 0-4 team.
And if Houston were sitting at 3-1, we’d be having a completely different conversation about this matchup.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that backing road favorites in divisional matchups can be dangerous. These teams know each other well, and divisional games have a funny way of being much closer than expected.
But that’s exactly why I like Houston in a teaser rather than laying the points.
Best Bet: 6-Point Teaser
Jaguars -1.5/Texans -1.5 (-125 at Caesars Sportsbook)
