The 2026 MLB Regular Season comes to a close today with a busy 15-game slate, including 13 games starting around 3:05-3:10 p.m. ET. Some still have playoff implications, but most don't, as all but two spots have been locked down. However, today’s best MLB picks could come from any game.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Kansas City Royals
This game has the potential for fireworks as the Royals enter it with the hottest lineup in baseball. Over the last week, Kansas City has hit a league-leading .313, scoring 31 runs across five games. Cleveland has recorded 27 runs over the last week (five games) while hitting .254. However, the Guardians have been on fire over the last two games, scoring 12 runs against the Royals on Friday and 11 in yesterday's game.
The Royals have been worse but haven't done poorly, scoring nine and five runs.
I expect Parker Messick (12-9, 2.55 ERA, 1.04 WHIP) to get control of the Royals’ lineup today. With Daniel Lynch giving up seven hits and nine earned runs in his last start, I'm not confident he can keep the Guardians’ lineup in check. Since they don't play until the American League Division Series (ALDS), I doubt Cleveland will rest players today and should put its best foot forward in a game it should win.
Pick: Guardians Moneyline (-112)
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers
Milwaukee has been the best team in baseball this season and has a chance to set the franchise's single-season win record at 103 with a victory against their division rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals. With Jacob Misiorowski (15-5, 1.86 ERA, 0.80 WHIP) taking the mound today, it is not hard to see that it will happen.
Misiorowski has allowed one earned run in his last 14.1 innings (three starts) and has been lights out at home this season (7-1, 1.61 ERA, .160 opponents’ batting average). With the Cardinals hitting a dismal .160 over the last week, it would not be shocking to see Misiorowski shut them out.
Milwaukee's bats haven't been super active over the last week (.262 batting average, 24 runs in five games). But they'll be more than lively against Andre Pallante (12-8, 3.61 ERA, 1.24 WHIP).
Pick: Brewers -1.5 (+108)
Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago White Sox
Chicago saw the door on the American League Central division title close yesterday after losing 9-6 to the Rockies. But they are in the postseason and set to face the Houston Astros in the Wild Card round (assuming Houston pulls out a win today against the A's). I doubt they'll put their best foot forward as they prep for the playoffs.
However, it is hard to say whether the dreadful Rockies will play well enough to win their regular-season finale. But with the pitchers taking he mound, the over looks like a solid play. Teams have hit .303 against Colorado's Kyle Freeland (1-7, 6.96 ERA away from home) in road games this season. Chicago starter Anthony Kay has a 4.53 ERA, and teams have hit .260 against him this season.
Chicago has hit .292 over the last week, and Colorado has hit .241. But while I expect the White Sox to win, I think the over is the better bet today.
