Toronto Tempo at Washington Mystics
It would be quite the surprise if Toronto plays both Brittney Sykes and Marina Mabrey, given this will be the second game in as many nights for the Tempo.
Things get somewhat worse considering the travel element. Washington is a highly favorable spot. Yet, if we are being honest, this is an extremely high point spread to cover for a team that is 2-3 against the spread (ATS) when the line is -6.5 or higher this season. Having said that, we simply can't rule out this game being well out of hand by halftime.
The Mystics own a 30-point differential over the last two home games, while holding each opponent to 75 points or fewer. It's difficult to envision Toronto rolling out the same lineup as last night - especially in the case of Sykes, who only returned yesterday after missing the last two months. Eleven points may be a high target for Washington. Yet, we feel they do enough tonight to win convincingly.
Pick: Mystics -10.5 (-105)
Toronto Tempo at Washington Mystics
It would be quite surprising for Toronto to come out of the gate firing, given the back-to-back travel-scheduling nightmare they are experiencing. This means we are favoring the side of Washington that scores fewer than 25 points in the first quarter. Their season average through the first 10 minutes of play offers us a lofty edge, and it looks like a solid spot to pounce.
Washington is the type of offense that gets off to a booming start on a nightly basis. The Mystics score the second-fewest points through the first 10 minutes of gameplay (20.3). Washington also averages the fewest number of shot attempts through the first quarter (16.3).
It's ultimately a coin flip if you want to get ambitious and take the side of Washington to be the first team to reach 25 points. However, the safer approach seems to be to take the side of neither team reaching 25 points in the opening quarter.
Pick: First Quarter Race to 25 Points: Neither (-110)
Toronto Tempo at Washington Mystics
The 90-point team total for the Washington Mystics is an absolute gut shot. The Mystics are heavily weighted against in terms of team points due to a very slow offense over the first two months.
Washington has been a team we could find some lucrative edges on in the total team department. Unfortunately, the oddsmakers were savagely on this play. So we must pivot to the road team
As previously stated, the deck is stacked against the Tempo as they are traveling from Toronto to play for the second consecutive night. The Washington Mystics are second in the WNBA in defensive rating (102.8) and are allowing a slim 77.8 points per game when playing at home through the month of August.
The Tempo would normally be a high-value pick to the over at more than 10 points below their season scoring average when playing on the road (90.4), but not tonight under the current conditions they face.
Pick: Toronto Tempo Team Total Under 79.5 Points (-120)
Minnesota Lynx @ Golden State Valkyries
When playing against the Golden State Valkyries, points become something of a scarcity. The Valkyries own the highest defense rating in the WNBA (101.1) and hold the opposition to the fewest points per game at home (75.9). Despite the stellar defense, Golden State is fantastic to the over when playing at home, covering it in 60% of games played at home as the favorite.
The Valkyries and Lynx are combining for almost 15 more points than the required threshold over the last five games. The 164.5 total is heavily focused on the Valkyries’ defense, and not on the fact that these teams are piling up the points in the last two weeks.
If the -2.5 spread is indicative of the kind of contest we are in store for, we can expect a tightly contested matchup filled with points.
Pick: Over 164.5 Points (-115)
Minnesota Lynx @ Golden State Valkyries
In a game where there could be a fair amount of scoring, you normally want to take a high-volume option for points. We are going to forgo that logic and take a shot on a low-total assist play that will more than likely go under the radar this evening. Napheesa Collier has looked sharp since returning from surgery. She is averaging 3.2 assists through nine games played in 2026.
Golden State allows over eight offensive rebounds per game while also conceding 10.6 points per game off second-chance opportunities. If Collier is able to rip down a few offensive boards, that should create some open looks above the perimeter. The Lynx center has finished with three assists or more in four out of the last six games.
Best of luck with your picks. Enjoy the games tonight.
Pick: Napheesa Collier 3+ Assists (-129)
