Dallas Wings vs. Golden State Valkyries
The Wings finally got a win over the Valkyries this season in Game 2, taking down the No. 2 seed in overtime, 108-100. What appears to have been the key this time was not only their perimeter defense, but their perimeter shooting. Golden State still made over 50% of its 3-point attempts, but Dallas held them to 23 attempts (they made 12), and that's with an overtime period.
After making just six of 20 attempts in Game 1, they went 12-for-27 in Game 2.
But can they sustain both levels of success on the road tonight? Dallas ranked No. 13 in opponents' 3-point percentage on the road during the regular season (36.2%), which makes it sound like the answer is "no."
But good teams find a way to get the job done when they need to most. Will they win the battle on the perimeter? I don't know, but I don't believe the Valkyries will blow them out, either. I still expect Golden State to win because they play great defense at home, but Dallas will stay within seven.
