MLB Home Run Props & Picks: Monday (10/5)

We couldn’t cash in on any home run props yesterday, but two more playoff matchups are on the horizon, and we can attack them. Here are three more MLB home run props for today’s American League Division Series (ALDS) Game 2 matchups.

Monday’s Best MLB Home Run Props & Picks

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

    Jo Adell (+540)

Jo Adell has a .242 ISO and a .420 wOBA against left-handed pitchers over the last month. He’s also added 36% of fly balls and 68% of hard contact, with a team-best 8% barrel rate against lefties over the last 30 days.

Adell will take on Anthony Kay of the White Sox today. Kay has allowed a .161 ISO and a .403 wOBA to his last 73 righties, while allowing 26.9% of fly balls and 32.7% of line drives. He’s also earned just 15.1% of strikeouts against righties in the last month.

Adell is in a good spot to deliver a long ball tonight.

    Angel Martinez (+750)

We’ll also give Angel Martinez a shot. The switch-hitter will bat from the right side against the left-handed Anthony Kay. Again, Kay has struggled against lefties over the last month, but he’s also allowed a .195 ISO and a wOBA of .375 to 519 righties this season.

On the other hand, Martinez has a .324 ISO and a .417 wOBA against lefties over the last 30 days, while adding 26.9% of fly balls and 50% of hard contact. He’s been one of the most consistent hitters, analytically speaking, against lefties over the last 30 days.

Martinez has enough pop to deliver a homer against Kay.

    Ben Rice (+350)

Freddy Peralta will start Game 2 of the ALDS for the Rays. The former Mets starter was traded to the Rays after a brutal first half. Eventually, he figured it out in August/September, but he’s still allowed a .185 ISO and a wOBA of .326 to 461 lefties this season.

Ben Rice has a .361 ISO and a .502 wOBA against his last 78 righties, while adding over 39% of fly balls and a team-high 15.2% barrel rate against righties in the last month.

Rice has earned 58.7% of hard contact and has been the heart and soul of the Yankees’ lineup with Aaron Judge out. I’ll give Rice a chance, even at +350. After all, he has a .400 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) against righties, which is easily the best number in the Yankees’ projected lineup.
