Sunday’s Best NBA Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Toronto Raptors at Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers (4-2) are coming off a disappointing 112-95 loss to the Warriors, blowing a 25-point lead after a dominant start. Luka Doncic finished with 37 points, but Los Angeles struggled with turnovers and couldn’t stop Golden State’s comeback. Despite that loss, the Lakers have been impressive offensively this season, with Doncic averaging 36.2 points per game.

The Raptors (3-2) are also coming off a frustrating loss, falling 121-114 to the Magic, despite a career-high 41 points from Scottie Barnes. Toronto continues to play without Kawhi Leonard, who remains sidelined with a knee injury. That’s a huge loss against a Lakers team that can score in bunches.

One key factor working in the Lakers’ favor is their offensive firepower. Doncic and Austin Reaves have been productive this season, while Toronto will need another big performance from Barnes to keep pace. The Lakers also have home-court advantage, and I expect a much better effort after Friday’s collapse against Golden State.

With Leonard unavailable and Los Angeles looking to bounce back, I like the Lakers to take care of business at home. I’ll lay the 2.5 points.

Pick: Lakers -2.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors

The Warriors (3-3) are coming off an impressive 112-95 win over the Lakers, overcoming a 25-point deficit to secure their third consecutive victory. Steph Curry led the way with 31 points and eight three-pointers, continuing his outstanding start to the season. However, Golden State will be without Curry tonight as he rests his right knee.

The Clippers (1-4) have struggled early, losing four straight games, including a 127-101 blowout against the Timberwolves on Friday. However, this is an excellent opportunity to turn things around against a depleted Warriors team. Golden State will also be without Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, leaving significant holes in its rotation.

Curry’s absence is huge. He’s averaging 29.2 points per game and shooting 44% from three, making him the driving force behind Golden State’s recent turnaround. Without Curry and Green, the Warriors lose their primary offensive creator and one of their most important playmakers and defenders.

Despite their poor start, I like the Clippers in this spot. Golden State is missing too much talent. The Clippers have an opportunity to capitalize against a short-handed opponent.

Pick: Clippers +1.5 (-106)
