Best NFL Week 6 Lookahead Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts this week. The Steelers are currently 2-0 at home and will face a Colts team with multiple wide receiver injuries. The Colts took advantage of Washington’s loss of Marcus Mariota and, the week prior, beat a Texans team that was also thin at wide receiver.
The Colts have been poor in the secondary and aren’t really doing much to stop the run. I’d imagine the Steelers will defeat the Colts and move on to 3-2 before their game against the Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers face the Dallas Cowboys on the road. It’ll be Jalon Daniels’ second start for the Buccaneers. He showed promise last week, but he still has a lot to improve before you can trust him.
When the Buccaneers lose by a hefty margin and the Steelers add a win over the Colts, the Steelers probably won’t be -3 (+100) any longer.
Pick: Steelers -3 (+100)
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Los Angeles Chargers have started the season 0-4. However, I’m not ready to give up on them. In fact, I’m ready to trust the Chargers against the Broncos on Sunday. Bo Nix and Justin Herbert have both been below average, but with the Chargers at home, I’ll bite.
On the other hand, the Kansas City Chiefs are on an early bye week. That’ll help them a little bit, but that wide receiver room is still super depleted.
Don’t forget that this is a rivalry game. A big divisional matchup, and these divisional teams tend to stick around late.
If we’re getting the key number +7.5, I’ll take it. Through four weeks, the Chiefs are 4-0, and Travis Kelce actually leads the team in receiving yards. That’s at least a little concerning. Plus, Pro Football Focus (PFF) lists the Chargers’ defense higher overall than Kansas City’s. This game will likely be closer than many would like to believe. It might look ugly now, but give me the Chargers against the spread.
Pick: Chargers +7.5 (-110)
