Early NFL Week 9 Parlay #1

Leg 1: Joe Burrow 225+ Passing Yards (-350)

Our first parlay doesn't come with much sweat attached, so the return on investment is modest. We plan to jump on a couple of lines early before something changes.

Joe Burrow ranks fourth overall in passing yards amongst the NFL with over 2,100 yards through seven games. The Falcons are conceding over 223 passing yards per game. That includes -2 yards by the Buccaneers on Sunday.

The spread for this contest in Spain is over 50 points. Oddsmakers expect a ton of scoring, so Burrow should have plenty of chances to clear 225 yards against Atlanta. The Bengals average 83 yards on the ground each contest. It's hard to envision Cincinnati getting most of its offense on the ground.

Leg 2: Lions Moneyline (-350)

Our next leg may look like a no-brainer. However, this is exactly what a trap game looks like. The Lions are coming off of a physical battle against Minnesota. Detroit handed the Vikings their first loss of the season, and now they head to Miami to face a Dolphins squad with only one win.

Taking the points may be the sharpest play. Yet, Lions -7 seems like an unnecessary sweat. We are going to take the cautious approach and back the Lions on the Moneyline. Miami allows nearly 26 points per game while scoring the second-fewest points per game in the NFL (16.7). Miami is severely outgunned on offense and hasn't been able to stop opponents on defense.

Leg 3: 49ers -9.5 (-120)

We close out our first parlay with a very straightforward selection. If we are being candid, though, the -120 return is somewhat peculiar. Normally, a standard spread will be set at -115 or -110. The extra juice suggests sportsbooks are heavily favoring this number, and the line could move to 10.5 soon. We offer our selections early so you can jump on the best lines and totals. This contest is a great example.

The Raiders are flying back from New Jersey after their most successful offensive performance of the season. San Francisco comes in well rested and will add DeForest Buckner to its defense. San Francisco suffered a rough loss against Atlanta before their bye week. We expect the 49ers to play as violently and aggressively as possible. San Francisco has covered a spread of -9.5 or more points in three of their five wins.

Parlay Odds: +205

Early NFL Week 9 Parlay #2

Leg 1: Jaguars Total Team 24+ Points (-180)

Our second parlay offers a much higher return on investment. However, the higher payout comes with added risk. The first leg kicks off on Thursday with the Jacksonville Jaguars versus the Baltimore Ravens. The Jaguars are smoking hot right now and lead the AFC South (5-2). The Ravens are in disaster mode; there's really no other way to put it.

We could have gone with the Moneyline or point spread in this contest. Betting on the Jaguars to score a bunch of points makes more sense. We are taking on a ton of risk with our next selection, so playing it somewhat cautiously here helps balance that out. Jacksonville averages 28 points per game and has scored over 30 in two straight contests. Baltimore is allowing over 25 points per game. The Ravens have surrendered 71 points over the previous two games.

Leg 2: Packers Moneyline (+128)

This is where the nail-biting ultimately begins and ends. That said, the Packers look sharp at this point in the season. Green Bay has won four of its last five games and has four wins outside its division. The Patriots are coming off two narrow wins against clearly inferior teams and a loss in their last three games.

New England could have easily fallen to the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Patriots are essentially the favorites due to playing at home. If this game were played in Green Bay, they would undoubtedly be the favorites. The Packers are allowing 20.5 points per game and have only conceded 20+ points in one of their previous five games.

If Green Bay can match the offensive success each of the previous three opponents has had against New England, the Packers should come away with their sixth win of the season.

Leg 3: Caleb Williams vs. Baker Mayfield Most Passing Yards: Caleb Williams (-225)

We close out our second parlay with a player prop that focuses on the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bears are at home and will be fresh off an absolute drilling on Monday Night Football earlier in the week. Tampa Bay didn't complete a pass on Sunday because of heavy rain. Caleb Williams is slinging the ball around the field and, as the odds suggest, appears to be the clear favorite to finish with more passing yards than Baker Mayfield.

Beyond last week, Mayfield hasn't accumulated many yards since returning. Tampa Bay’s quarterback has thrown for fewer than 700 yards in five games. The Buccaneers don’t have Mike Evans’ talent to rely on in the passing game, and that's driving them to run the ball more.

Williams has recorded 200+ passing yards in all but one game this season (138 yards vs. Minnesota) - including 300+ yards in two out of the last three games. Tampa Bay averages the fewest passing yards per game (131.4), while Chicago ranks in the top 15 with 236+ passing yards each contest.

Parlay Odds: +435
