2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks, & Predictions: Longshot Bets

The 2025 PGA Championship heads to Charlotte, North Carolina, at Quail Hollow Club this week. It’s the second major of the PGA Tour season, so this field of 156 golfers will cut their teeth on this par 71 course that runs over 7,600 yards.

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are co-favorites to win the 2025 PGA Championship at +450 odds. McIlroy is looking for his fifth win at Quail Hollow and his second straight major victory after completing the Grand Slam at The Masters last month.

Scheffler will debut at Quail Hollow after helping his team win the Presidents Cup in 2023. He’s coming off a nuclear outing at TPC Craig Ranch during the CJ CUP Byron Nelson, logging 31-under-par to beat the field by eight strokes.

This is a longshot bets article, so we won’t be touching McIlroy or Scheffler in the outright market. Some quality players are being undervalued due to their presence in this field, creating a good opportunity for us to finally hit a longshot bet during the second major of the year.

2025 PGA Championship: Longshot Bets

These plays are .25u and .10u, or 0.25% and 0.10% of your betting bankroll. Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Viktor Hovland (+5000)

No stranger to the big stage, Viktor Hovland at 50-1 is a realistic outright winner at a longshot price. He’s won on the PGA Tour this season at the Valspar Championship, which also happens to be his only top 10 finish in 2025.

Ranked 24th in total driving, averaging over 300 yards off-the-tee with his driver, the Norwegian golfer has a lot of power to harness a long course like Quail Hollow. Hovland is ninth in proximity, 27th on approach shots from 200+ yards, 41st in putting average and 26th in birdie average.

Placed a solo third here during the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship. Followed it up with a 43 and 24 at the Wells Fargo Championship in 2023 and 2024.

He’s coming off of a disappointing T54 at the Truist Championship, which is why we’re landing such a good price on a golfer with Hovland’s talent. Bet a quarter unit (0.25) on Hovland to contend for the outright win at +5000 odds.

Patrick Reed (+8000)

Patrick Reed is gaining steam in the outright winner market, shortening from 90-1 to his current 80-1 price. Reed recorded a third-place finish at The Masters and logged a T10 finish at Quail Hollow during the 2017 PGA Championship.

The LIV golfer has plenty of skill on the greens with his putter, which is critical to navigate the Bermudagrass greens running up to 13 feet via Stimpmeter. Let’s place a 0.10 unit sprinkle on Reed at 80-1 to win eight units. He’s seeking a second career major victory, donning the green jacket at The Masters in 2018.
