Thursday's Best MLB Picks & Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

    Boston Red Sox (-192) at Baltimore Orioles (+156) | O/U 7.5 (-117/-104)

The Red Sox are in line to get the impressive four-game road sweep in Baltimore. This is after dropping both games at home in the last series against the Orioles. The Red Sox are rolling, having won six of the last seven. Three of those wins came against the Yankees, which helped climb over them for second in the American League East.

There is no one better to be on the mound for this type of game than Garrett Crochet. He's in the hunt for a Cy Young with Tarik Skubal. He's been tough all season as he's allowed two or fewer runs in 15-of-19 starts this season. That includes against the Orioles, where he went eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits.

It has been brutal for Orioles' Cade Povich as the Orioles have won just twice in his last 11 starts.

    Pick: Red Sox -1.5 (-108)

    New York Yankees (-200) at Chicago White Sox (+162) | O/U 9.0 (-105/-115)

This is a stretch where the Yankees can gain some ground in the standings. They are in the middle of an easier stretch of games; they just swept the Nationals, and now they get a series against the White Sox.  It gets tougher after this, as their next three series are against the Astros, Tigers, and Blue Jays.

Warren is coming off a terrible start against the Red Sox, where he allowed five earned runs in four innings. However, when he's on, he can shut down a lineup, and in his eight previous starts, Warren allowed two or fewer runs in six. You might have to lean on his regression to continue; Chicago's offense has been great recently, as their .329 wOBA since August 13 is ninth.

The Yankees will face Davis Martin, whose 3.93 ERA looks decent, but he's struggled against good lineups. For example, he recently allowed six runs to Seattle, four to Houston, and four to Baltimore. The Yankees’ bats are hot, and we could see a lot of runs.

    Pick: Over 9 Runs (-105)
