    Colorado Rockies (+176) at Cubs (-210) | O/U 9.0 (-124/+102

The Cubs have a juicy matchup at the plate tonight. According to FanGraphs, among 112 pitchers with at least 60 innings pitched in 2026, Michael Lorenzen is 112th in ERA (7.54), and his 5.67 xERA is also ugly. The veteran righty’s 4.36 xFIP and 4.46 SIERA aren’t as putrid as his ERA or xERA. Still, they’re poor marks, and his ERA and xERA are disastrous.

Lorenzen is also a plus-matchup for hitters of either handedness. Since last season, he’s permitted a .387 wOBA to 461 left-handed batters and a .342 wOBA to 465 right-handed batters. The Rockies also have a pathetic bullpen. Colorado’s relievers are 29th in ERA (5.21).

The Cubs have significant firepower in their lineup. Assuming Seiya Suzuki returns to the lineup tonight, six of Chicago’s projected starters have recorded at least a 110 wRC+ against right-handed pitching since 2024, with five boasting at least a 116 wRC+ and three tallying at least a 126 wRC+. Even their weak spots are adequate hitters.

The weather should also be favorable for Chicago’s offense today. The temperature is projected to be in the 70s, and the wind appears to be blowing out. Therefore, the Cubs should take advantage of their juicy matchup and light up the scoreboard. Their team total of 5.5 runs is high, but Chicago has the thump to score at least six runs, and the +104 odds are compelling.

Pick: Cubs Team Total Over 5.5 Runs (+104)

    Pittsburgh Pirates (+104) at Athletics (-122) | O/U 10.5 (-120/-102

The Athletics have an advantage on the bump tonight. The bullpens are close. The Pirates are 20th in bullpen ERA (4.53), and the Athletics are 25th (4.80).

However, J.T. Ginn is a better pitcher than Jared Jones. Ginn has blossomed this season, spinning a 3.15 ERA, 3.82 xERA, 4.05 xFIP and 4.20 SIERA in 15 appearances (12 starts), totaling 71.1 innings. Conversely, Jones has a 4.73 ERA, 5.24 xERA, 4.00 xFIP and 3.93 SIERA in three starts for the Pirates.

The A’s are also in better form at the plate.

The Athletics are tied for ninth in wRC+ (103) in the previous 30 days, while the Pirates are 27th (80). Seven of the projected starters for the A’s have recorded at least a 100 wRC+ against righties since 2024, with four owning at least a 114 wRC+. The Pirates will also be without Oneil Cruz and Konnor Griffin.

The A’s should take advantage of the pitching mismatch, and their quality offense should allow them to get the job done and earn a win tonight as only slightly chalky (-122) favorites.

    Pick: Athletics Moneyline (-122)
