This Season: 78-85

Friday’s Best PrizePicks Player Predictions
Maybe this line is a trap. Toussaint has thrown six or more strikeouts in just two games this season. Those back-to-back nine-strikeout performances came at the beginning of this month but are serious outliers when looking at the rest of his numbers this season.

In his last three starts, he has struck out just 11 batters. Additionally, the deepest he has gone into a game this season is 6.0 innings. Even though the Tigers are eighth in the league in total strikeouts, Toussaint simply isn't a strikeout pitcher. We have no idea why this number is so high. Don't overthink it. Just take the under.
Sanchez was red-hot to start August, but he has cooled considerably down the stretch. He has hit safely in just three of his last seven games, yet we like his over tonight.
He has hit safely in back-to-back games, and though he has limited experience against Jake Irvin, he is 1-2 in his career against him. The last time these two met back on August 26th, Sanchez walked twice, as Irvin was unable to retire him. Irvin has a WHIP of 1.38, and he has given up at least five hits in 11 of his last 12 games. Sanchez is seeing the ball well right now. When all this is considered, we like the over.
Wheeler is coming off a 10-strikeout performance, but that's not the only reason we love this play. Wheeler strikes out 1.1 batters per inning, and he has pitched at least 6.0 innings in nine consecutive games. He has gone 7.0 in three straight starts, and even though he only struck out five in two of those games, those performances came against two of the better strikeout teams in the league.
Wheeler has a lot of history against the Brewers lineup. He has struck out 25 batters in 94 at-bats. That's off pace to strike out six in 6.0 innings, but because of the history, the way he has been pitching of late, and the fact that the Brewers are right in the middle of the league when it comes to strikeouts this season, we like the over.
