NBA Player Props Bet Picks & Predictions: Friday (5/16)

NBA Player Props & Bets: Monday (5/4)

We are into the NBA playoffs now with some injuries derailing teams' hopes for an NBA championship. Despite no Jayson Tatum, Boston showed how they are not out of the fight yet. Tonight they go at it again against New York on the road as a two-point underdog. It should be a great game for what's been a great year, and I hope we continue that trend tonight. As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up-to-date with the latest news. That's not as prevalent in the playoffs but you never know what might happen. The second best way is to shop around at different books. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value. Let's get to it.

Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be a single unit.

Derrick White Over 31.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-115)

Without Jayson Brown in the lineup, the easy go-to is taking Jaylen Browns props but for me they're a bit too inflated. Last time I went with Derrick White and tonight I'm going to do the same. He tallied 34 points alone in their Game 4 win against Cleveland and tonight might be a similar outcome. I don't expect him to be as efficient but his usage jumped to 27 percent last time out and that combined with 40 minutes tonight is a recipe for success. He's covered this line in three of his last five games even when Tatum was in the lineup. Now without him, I'm going to White instead of Jaylen Brown to go over his PAR. This should be a tight game and with a 210 total, White's slice of the pie doesn't have to be that big to eat it up here in Game 6.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 33.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-120)

The Boston frontcourt has been dealing with issues to the point where it's confusing how low KAT's PAR prop is. Towns has covered this line in 71 percent of games this season and should get his highest minutes in this game more than any other. His 26 percent usage rate with 36 minutes on the court projects him closer to 40 on this combo prop. After a disappointing night out last game with only 19 points and eight boards, this line has taken a bit of a dip so I'm buying stock now. Towns gets a bump at home and this is the game where the Knicks take the series, I feel it in my bones. The Celtics’ road defense has been significantly worse this year and takes another step back without Tatum and Porzingis at his level. Give me the double over here with tonight's props as we start the weekend.
