Monday's Best NBA Player Props
Tyrese Maxey Over 28.5 Points (-110)
Tyrese Maxey averaged 29 points per game last season without Joel Embiid and Paul George. He is averaging 34 points through two games this season. Against the Hornets, Maxey was inefficient from the floor, going 7-of-20, with four of the makes being three-pointers. Maxey also added 10 points from the free-throw line. The Magic did hold Trae Young to 25 points on a similar inefficient shooting night.
Michael Porter Jr. Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-125)
Michael Porter Jr. has cleared this line in his last two games. He knocked down two threes in the season opener, going 2-of-7 from deep. Over half of his scoring has come from above-the-break threes, which happens to be the weakest area of the Rockets’ defense. Porter is averaging 8.7 three-point attempts so far this season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 30.5 Points (-118)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has started the season averaging 40 points per game. He faces a Mavericks team that he scored 36, 39 and 31 points against last season. Gilgeous-Alexander scores most of his points from the mid-range, where the Mavs rank last in defending this season.
Gilgeous-Alexander scores 48% of his points from the paint and restricted area; the Mavs rank in the bottom third of the league in both of those areas. The Thunder will be without Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso. Chet Holmgren is questionable, but he was questionable on Saturday as well and played.
