NBA Player Props & Bets: Thursday (12/18)

NBA First Basket Scorer Odds & Picks: Wednesday (4/9)

Welcome to another day of NBA prop betting as we hunker down in the cold this holiday season and move past the NBA Cup, good job Knicks. We've been steady of late as we're green on the season and running hot, despite a hiccup yesterday. As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up-to-date with the latest news. The second best way is to shop around at different books. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value. We have a massive 12-game slate today so we have plenty of options. Let's get to it.

NBA Prop Bet Cheat Sheet

Thursday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Last Time: 0-2 | This Season: 32-22 | Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be a single unit.

Jerami Grant Under 24.5 Pts + Reb (-112 at DraftKings)

Now that we've finally got a whole host of games back on the docket we can finally dig into some matchups. So let's start with the last one of the day, shall we? Jerami Grant is coming off one of his better performances of the season, putting up 35 points, while hitting a season-high seven threes. After that, his props have boosted too high to the point where it's time to sell stock. Grant hasn't covered this line in nine of his last 15 games and I expect that to be the 10th game tonight. Sacramento isn't exactly the best defensively but there comes a point where the line is simply too over inflated. That's where we are tonight. Grant averages under 23 points-boards a night but he isn't one to play close to his averages. If you're going to take the under, I'd advise some alternates. He's scored 13 points before, five in a game where he played 31 minutes, and sometimes just isn't involved in the game plan. There are plenty of different avenues to bet this one so don't be afraid to get creative.

Devin Vassell Over 20.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-115 at Hard Rock)

One team I'm never afraid of betting overs for opponents against is Washington. Sometimes I'm not sure if there is such a thing as too high of props against the Wizards. Washington's defense ranks dead last in any metric you can find on the whole season or within the last 10 games. They also rank in the top five in pace of play and are playing in San Antonio. The Spurs play better at home with the seventh best rating and I expect Vassell to be a beneficiary of that. Among the Spurs' starters, I'm surprised by how low Vassell's PAR sits at right now. This is a line Vassell has covered in eight of his last 11 games. Victor Wembanyama may be getting back into the fold but he's still going to be limited in his return. Vassell plays around 32 minutes a night and with the pace and defense of Washington, he will get plenty of opportunity to rack up the stats here.

Kris Dunn Under 11.5 Pts + Ast (-125 at DraftKings)

I understand that this is a juiced line but Oklahoma City is basically the antithesis of Washington. Not only does the Thunder defense rank first overall but the difference in their defensive rating to Houston at second is the same between Houston and the Clippers at 26th. That's insane! This might go without saying but no team has allowed fewer points and assists than the Thunder. Kris Dunn may have covered this line in three straight games but he’s also had games where he fails to score close to double-digits and barely takes any shots. Los Angeles plays at the second slowest pace of play in the league and while Oklahoma City is a pace up, but the total is only 221 points. The Clippers are in for a brawl offensively and the guard's usage rate is only 13 percent this season. He won't be the go-to guy, even if they can keep the 18-point spread close.

Other Bets:

Michael Porter Jr. Under 36.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-118 at DraftKings)

Jusuf Nurkic Under 19.5 Pts + Ast (-115 at HardRock)

Myles Turner Over 19.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-110 at HardRock)
