The second round of the NBA playoffs is in full swing, and we’re treated to another two contests tonight. With a win, the Knicks could really get the pressure cooking on the Celtics to make it 3-1 in their favor. Out on the West Coast, Golden State is just trying to make it to Game 6 for Steph Curry to return.

The zestiest man in the NBA has been cleaning up the glass in this series against Boston. He has found 13, 17, and 15 boards across the first three games, averaging 22.7 rebound chances per game. That isn’t all that different from the regular season either. In the two regular season games where he played playoff-like minutes (41 and 43 minutes) against Boston, KAT had 18 and 14 rebounds as well.
Sticking in the same game, Brunson has his work cut out for him with Derrick White and Jrue Holiday draped on him. It has been harder for him to cut to the basket, which has led to more three-point attempts. Brunson averaged 6.1 attempts from beyond the arc in the regular season. In six competitive games against Boston, that number has shot up to 9 per game. Brunson has exceeded this in five of those contests, averaging 3.7 per game.
We hit this in Game 2, and we’re going right back to it. Butler just gave it his all in Game 3, is probably gassed, and I think there is a real chance we get a blowout in this one. The Wolves hard-nosed defense has the bodies to slow him down, as evident from Games 1 (20 points) and 2 (17). We’re also working with a very low total of 199.5, and we’ve seen how difficult scoring has been to come by in this series. The Timberwolves know Golden State is limited on scoring options and can zero in on Jimmy and send this back to Minnesota up 3-1.
