NFL Week 5 Same Game Parlay Picks & Prediction: Jets vs. Vikings (2024)

NFL Week 7 Same Game Parlays: Lions vs. Vikings (2024)

The Jets and Vikings will play the first international game of the season on Sunday. The Vikings are 2.5-point favorites, and the game’s total is just 40.5 points, suggesting it will be a back-and-forth, low-scoring slugfest. The close projected game influenced the following selections for a five-leg parlay featuring a few of the biggest stars in both offenses.

New York Jets @ Minnesota Vikings SGP

  • Leg 1: Aaron Jones Over 63.5 Rushing Yards  (-115)
  • Leg 2: Justin Jefferson Over 77.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
  • Leg 3: Justin Jefferson Over 5.5 Receptions (-135)
  • Leg 4: Breece Hall Under 65.5 Rushing Yards (-265)
  • Leg 5: Breece Hall Over 3.5 Receptions (-175)

The Vikings are the final undefeated team in the NFC, and head coach Kevin O’Connell has wisely leaned on his best offensive players. It’s a novel concept. Aaron Jones has handled 64 of Minnesota’s backfield’s 93 rush attempts (68.8%) this season. Jones has averaged 80.3 rushing yards per game, rumbling for 94, 32, 102 and 93 yards.

The veteran running back has a favorable matchup on Sunday morning. According to Pro Football Reference, the Jets have allowed 102.3 rushing yards per game at 4.60 yards per carry to running backs. Per the data suite at Fantasy Points, the Jets have allowed the 16th-most yards before contact per attempt (1.56) and the third-most yards after contact per attempt (2.67) this year. Again, it’s a plus matchup. So, FantasyPros projects Jones to have 67.8 rushing yards against the Jets.

Justin Jefferson should shine as well. Since a quiet 59-yard effort in Week 1, he’s had 133, 81 and 85 receiving yards on four, six and six receptions. According to Fantasy Points, among 75 wide receivers with at least 75 routes this year, Jefferson is tied for 11th in air-yard share (43.8%), tied for sixth in target share (27.4%), tied for 11th in targets per route run (0.28), third in yards per route run (3.44 Y/RR), tied for fourth in first-read percentage (35.3%) and sixth in first downs per route run (0.135).

Additionally, O’Connell is willing to move Jefferson around the formation to put him in favorable situations. This is intelligent coaching and ideal for Jefferson’s receiving outlook, leading to a projection of 6.0 receptions and 81.6 receiving yards against the Jets.

Gang Green and Breece Hall have struggled to generate an efficient rushing game. According to Fantasy Points, the Jets have the 11th-highest stuff percentage (46.4%) and the fewest yards before contact per attempt (0.58). Hall has averaged only 43.5 rushing yards per game at a pitiful 3.1 yards per carry this season. He also had a season-low 10 rush attempts against the Broncos last week. Hall has exceeded 15 carries only twice this year, ceding some opportunities to bruising rookie running back Braelon Allen.

Hall doesn’t have a get-right matchup on the ground this week. The Vikings have allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game (62.3) to running backs at 3.95 yards per carry.

The most efficient way to utilize Hall this week might be through the air. Hall has averaged 4.5 receptions per game for 33.5 receiving yards per game this season. He’s had five, seven, four and two receptions in four games. Thus, FantasyPros projects Hall to have 60.3 rushing yards and 4.1 receptions against the Vikings, putting him under his alternate rushing line and over his receptions line.
