The NFL is back, and we get some Friday football this week! The Packers take on the Eagles in Brazil, and there are sure to be some exciting moments tonight. We’ll have you covered with all things betting, and that certainly includes NFL player prop bets. Here are my top NFL player prop bets and predictions for Friday’s game between the Eagles and Packers.
NFL Player Prop Bets: Packers vs. Eagles
Jordan Love Over 22.5 Completions -110
Jordan Love and the Green Packers found something in the second half of last season, winning six of their previous eight games, including wins over the Lions and Chiefs.
Over his last eight games, Love averaged 268.7 yards and 25.5 completions per game.
Whatever switch he turned on was needed as they made a late push into the playoffs, ultimately making him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.
To start the 2024 season, they face an Eagles secondary that was torched throughout the 2023 season. Their secondary allowed 3116 yards and 254 completions to opposing receivers, the worst in the NFL.
The Eagles did bring in a new defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, but they didn’t really address the secondary besides bringing back CJ Garner-Johnson.
Philadelphia will be without two starting defensive backs for its season opener. Isaiah Rodgers and James Bradberry are out due to injury.
Look for Jordan Love and the Packers to pick right where they left off a season ago. They will have a plethora of weapons to use against a weak Philly secondary.
Josh Jacobs Over 2.5 Receptions -115
Losing Aaron Jones stings for Packers fans, but Josh Jacobs is more than capable of replacing the production he leaves behind. Jacobs can be a real factor in this Packers passing game. He is one of the better pass-catching backs in the NFL. Even when he led the league in rushing two years ago, he still caught 65 passes, two shy of Aaron Jones that year.
I like his chances to get a handful of targets, which should give Jacobs multiple chances to go over this number. Plus, in the second half of the year, Jordan Love was finally able to learn to get the ball out quickly. He got rid of the ball in just 2.5 seconds at a 48% clip, the fastest in the league.
This prop also correlates well with our Love over completions prop.
Josh Jacobs Under 63.5 Rushing Yards -115
As mentioned just two years ago, Josh Jacobs led the NFL in rushing but followed that up with one of the most inefficient seasons by a starting running back we have seen in a while. Jacobs finished 8th in YPC (3.5) among running backs with at least 100 snaps last season with the Raiders.
This year, he gets a little upgrade in an offensive line but not much better, and he will have to go up against an Eagles team that did defend the run somewhat despite all of their defensive issues.
Depending on how well this Eagles offense looks under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Green Bay may have to abandon the run early to keep up with the fast-paced offense Moore brings to the table.
Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown -115
The Eagles will want to show off their new toy to the world and prove how dominant this offense can be after a disastrous 2023 season.
This will be one of the best offensive lines Barkey has ever had in front of him, and he will get many chances near the end zone despite keeping with the tush push. The Packer’s defense struggles against the run, allowing 1626 rushing yards (11th most) and 13 rushing touchdowns (8th most) by opposing running backs.
While fantasy owners may get frustrated throughout the season because the tush push may steal a few scoring opportunities away from Saquon, I think the Eagles will let him get one tonight if the opportunity presents itself.
