Premier League Picks & Predictions: Matchday 8

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Ipswich Town vs. Nottingham Forest

This is the only Friday match, so I wanted to highlight this one. Also, I like the underdog quite a bit.

Nottingham Forest is the favorite here, but I'm going with Ipswich. And I think this one could be decided by multiple goals.

Nottingham Forest has lost its last three Premier League matches while scoring just one goal over that span. Ipswich has at least won one of its last three and has scored four times.

And with this one being at Portman Road, l'm picking Ipswich to win and am predicting a few goals get scored here.

Pick: Ipswich Town Moneyline (+215) & Over 3.5 Total Goals (+185)

Aston Villa vs. Manchester City

Manchester City is at the top of the Premier League table with 21 points and a 7-0-0 record. Meanwhile, Aston Villa is 12th in the table with a 2-2-3 record and eight points.

But the thing is, Aston Villa has played pretty well as of late, not losing its last seven matches. They've scored 21 goals and have allowed just seven during that span.

Plus, Aston Villa has played pretty well against Man City. And with Aston Villa being at home, I'm going with a draw here.

Pick: Draw (+340)

Liverpool vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

This is going to be the best match of the week. Brighton is third in the EPL table with 16 points and a 5-1-1 record while Liverpool, the home team, ranks fifth with 12 points and a 3-3-1 mark.

Brighton is the underdog, but they've been playing well recently. They haven't lost in their last eight matches and have outscored their opponents by a collective margin of 23-2 over that span. Plus, they haven't allowed a goal in their last five outings.

I'm going with Brighton. I'm also predicting Charalampos Kostoulas will score considering he's recorded a goal in three of his last four matches.

Pick: Brighton & Hove Albion Moneyline (+210) & Charalampos Kostoulas Anytime Goalscorer (+205)
